The Russian Invasion of Ukraine (Part 2)

Wagner is not going to back down i think:

❗️New audio statement by Prigozhin (00:03 BST), stating Wagner “crossed state borders in all areas” and is now entering Rostov, promising to “destroy anything standing in their way”:

"The current situation: today, we were dealt a missile strike. After this strike, helicopters did their work. Then, artillery.

The orders were coming from the Head of General Staff to destroy PMC Wagner. After a meeting with the Minister of Defence Shoygu where they made this decision - to destroy the rebellious units, who are ready to defend the motherland, but not their asses.

As of now, we’ve crossed the state borders in all areas. Border guards came towards us and hugged our fighters.

Now, we’re entering Rostov. Units of the Ministry of Defence, in fact, the conscripts who were thrown to block our path, moved away.

We do not fight with children. We do not kill children. Shoygu is killing children by throwing untrained soldiers, conscripts included, into the war.

He set up 18-year-old lads against us. They’re like children and grandchildren to us. Therefore, these lads will live and return to their mothers.

We only fight with professionals. But if someone stands in our path, we will destroy EVERYTHING in our way.

We lend a hand to anyone. No need to spit in this hand. We are moving forward, going to the end.

Regarding claims regarding the arrest: this brotherhood, this justice, this honour, this conscience is what we have. But when you make these claims, you haven’t got these feelings. These feelings are destroyed. Thus, you cannot understand anything but betrayal."

Concerning that video. I made a rather long facebook post on the subject of that video and Semen Pegov. I mean, where is Wargonzo ?

That is 1.30 into the video btw. Insignificant importance compared to tonight’s event, but Wargonzo would represent a huge loss for Z info-war. And notice he wears sneakers and not a proper uniform and looks just like Wargonzo. Wargonzo hasn’t posted for a few days. I am not sure, but I do belive it was him getting killed there…

Seems clashes have started in Rostov on the Don…

Wagner entering Rostov oblast a bit earlier. From…Ukaine (so absurd to leave a war to invade your country to, I don’t even, lol):

Daylight has come:

Need some rest, despite the monumental events.

Edit:

As i go to bed as the morning is dawning here, Wagner is in control of the city of Rostov and are preparing to storm the military HQ of the Southern Military district (no joke!) I guess they will surrender, but it is now confirmed that the forces in the video above are Wagner.

Southern military District is under…siege !

They have fucking taken Rostov with barely a fight. I can sleep now.

New Prigo message
“I am warning everyone. We will destroy everything around us. We cannot be destroyed. We have goals. We are ready to die. All 25k. And then another 25k. We are dying for the motherland, for Russian ppl, which has to be freed from ppl who kill innocent ppl”

Mmm, Wagner fighting Kreml-loyalists outside, LOL, Voronezh. That is…far away (relatively speaking). They have also downed another helicopter. Rosgardia is letting the Wagner army pass them without a fight. Crazy times.

Here’s the situation from the Russian point of view. Tass claims that the troops in front of the Southern Military District headquarters in Rostov-on-Don are Russian forces. Of course, both sides are equally adept at disinformation.

Bit of weird one and hard to fathom what he’s envisaging here, our erstwhile ‘musician’. He doesn’t appear to be going after Putin at all but rather Shoigu. Why waste such resources and put himself at significant risk for just the Minister of Defence, as powerful in the political circles of Russia he might be?

Cant really call this a coup or hope for a significant change in Russian policy just yet. At best at the moment is to break out the popcorn and see what happens. AFU should be upping operations though, mind. Who knows what the state of mind is of the average Russian mobik sitting in a trench in Southern Ukraine.

My guess is Putin will either be ousted or be gently nudged out.

Saying that Putin has been lied to by his generals saves some face, but does not exactly shine him in a good light.

Wagner does not want to be fighting the population, which he would be if he targeted Putin. This approach gives him the optics of the man of the people and country.

It also provides an out for Putin to gracefully bow out.

Well who would have thought giving a psychopath his own private army made from the dregs of society would be a good idea.

From the Guardian:
The governor of the Lipetsk region in central Russia says the M-4 motorway connecting Moscow with southern regions has been closed to traffic at the border with the Voronezh region, about 400km (250 miles) south of the Russian capital, Reuters reports.

Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin appears to have sent an armed convoy of his mercenary fighters on a 1,200km (750-mile) drive towards Moscow, having said he intends to oust the military leadership.

If true, I wonder how many men and vehicles are in that convoy.

My concern with this is, if Wagner do manage to oust Putin, who do they put in charge?

Prigohzin gaining control of Russia’s nukes is even more terrifying than Putin having nukes. And if not him, is there anyone else in Russia that would be able to take charge without escilating things in Ukraine?

We don’t even know if they are going after Putin. But even if they are, that seems extremely unlikely to happen.

Unless they find some unexpected support close to Putin’s power base.

Ukraine really need to take advantage of this situation.
