It’s awful for climate change and the environment, at least in the short term.
But there is not much one can do about that. Complaints about Co2 release and too much oil burning at once, will not sway the Ukrainian general staff, who has more immediate critical concerns to survive.

The situation with the oil rain in Tuapse is so horrific that the Russian government should have evacuated the entire city. Bu they won’t, because then they must admit they have a big problem, and they don’t want to do that.

Oil is in the air, on the ground and in the water. But no one should expect them to evacuate even though it is raining oil.
