Thank you @Magnus for keeping us updated. Sadly, like many issues, the importance of reporting and providing information on international matters are superceeded by the next big story.

I know you are both knowledged and vested in this conflict. For people like myself who are not up to date could you provide a brief summary of events.
Are the long range bombing of Russian War infrastructure by Ukraine, showing signs of success.
Regarding the situation on the ground, what is happening? Are we seeing any positive progression on the frontline for the Ukrainians?

Thanks

@Magnus will answer much more precisely than me, but I heard on radio yesterday that the Ukrainians have recouped 116 sq km of territory lately, which means they have made progress on the frontline for the first time since 2023.

Saw this on the news last night,

The future is here…

Yes, it is showing great success.
I have posted various analysis of that trend above. Previously, places like Leningrad Oblast and the Urals were safe, for military industry as well as energy indutrsy. This is no longer the case as the scale of unmanned Ukrainain flights have greatly grown, Ukrainian drones are adjusted and upgraded several times a year and it’s industry is much more agile than the Russian one, due to autocratic decision making and centralisation on the Russian side. But methodical targeting of Russian ground based air defence, as well as Putin’s personal paranoia (Moscow had a massive shield of air defence, which means that everywhere else there is less), radars and EWar, have created gaps in air defence coverage (which still is very good in Russia), so Ukrainian drones get through more and more and are attacking critical infrastructure with enormous effects (you can scroll back some posts and see trends).

As to the frontlines, the positive is that the Russian Zaporizjzja offensive stalled in february-march and late march and in april saw Ukrainan adjustments where Russians were pushed back from front positions back to their logistical bases and fortresses.
Elsewhere, Russian forces advance slightly, but have completely lost Kupyansk as an example, with the last besiged Russians there, killed days ago.

@Hope.in.your.heart
But overall, Russia still advances, but much too slowly. Far more importantly, is the attrition numbers we spoke about a week ago or so. Ukraine still desperatly lacks manpower, but for several months now, Ukraine has killed and/or permanently disabled more soldiers than Russia have been able to recruit per month and this is having a very real effect combined with the atrrition rate of specific equipment like ground based air defence.

Many thanks for the updates again. In terms of the AI drone, is this completely independent of human input in terms of operation or actual target selection?
