And Mourinho managed United. Until I changed all that one fateful Anfield evening.

Isn’t it past your bedtime?

I never take Jose seriously anymore and neither should anyone,he’s moved on from managing football teams to now being a full time comedian whose wind ups are piss poor.

Really the kind of football that I had hoped had got you ever diminishing returns.

Saying that I think we played better than usual against it.

It’s why the games against lesser opponents may hurt them more.

Yeah, difficult to know what make of Spurs from that. I didnt think were particularly cutting tonight, yet still created more than enough to win. It’s difficult to feel hard done by for a side who came to defend, did little else and still gave up a succession of decent chances.

The game against Southampton was taken as evidence of their ability to cut “small” teams apart. However, as the season goes on it is becoming more and more evident that Southampton are front foot attacking who play like a big team and are a side who play the same way no matter what and fell into Spurs’ trap. By comparison Palace did not.

Glad to beat them of course and I thought it was excellent display of the better side not falling into the counter attack but smaller sides than us will have success just by attacking Spurs to try and break them down.

Guys, posted this in the Premier League thread, but might as well post it here as well. It is awesome. I have watched the clip now maybe 8 times. I think Sherwood is a decent enough pundit and commentator, such as they come, but this was a stellar moment in time.

Daniel Levy said
“There are two top coaches in the world. One is at another Premier League club and the other is Jose.”

Is he talking about Ole or someone else?

This is possibly the second BBC tribute to Mourinho in last one month or so. They are badly trying to promote someone as an viable alternative to Klopp.

I have nothing against Mourinho. He is a great tactician. His tactics isn’t good to watch but it’s effective. But drooling over him after 13 games!!! Hasn’t Ralph Hasenhüttl done just as much!!!

Jose fills the back pages himself - he writes the headlines, and controls the narrative. He does it in his own way, Jurgen does it his way, and the same applies to all the gaffers. Add to that Jose’s history (massive peaks and massive troughs) covering a lot of success in a lot of places, right down to eye gouges and other controversy.

Right now we are seeing peak Jose, he’s got a system that works for his team, but it’s a high wire act, so when it doesn’t pay off, Jose will go full defensive. He also deflects from his team and creates a us vs them attitude, which over the years has paid off for his teams.

All of this naturally leads to Jose being of interest to the media.

Don’t worry about it. They may come 2nd in the PL, win the league cup or FA cup, Jose will give it the big un, ask Levy for the reddies, before his players get sick of him, it goes tits up (year 3 standard), and as usual, Jose will be sacked after Liverpool beat his team during Nov-Dec 2021.

Rinse and repeat, this time maybe in Germany?
