The older folks would remember 28.8 or 56k modems connecting via copper phone line to access internet…and someone picking up the phone in the household will ruin the connection while you are in a middle of a 5MB download or in the middle of the rare online game.

It’s a broad band of humour. Of course you might contend the ratio of humorous vs techy posts but ultimately, unless you’re in quickly, you’re just guilty of latency. On a serious point, 9800,n,1 might make sense to some but I suspect it will ping right past you.
