We have a thing here called Navas/mangat/vrat which is basically promising God something in return to fulfill your wish.
And you have to fulfill your promise if your wish is fulfilled, otherwise it is believed that God will strike back.
So promising your life for a job, and worse still going ahead with the offering is stupid and crazy.
Maybe it’s a dark humour that only Desis will get. I don’t know cause I, and for that matter many here in India online, found this funny as a dark humour.
