Watching and loving the Like a Dragon Yakuza show - feels so awesome to see Kamarocho on the big screen!
Following it up by finally starting Shogun. What a fun show that is - i love the English actor channeling Richard Burton. Great cast all round.
To me it felt like Jonathan Creek, which is no bad thing.
Has anyone watched Only Murders in the Building? In the middle of season three. I think it might be the best thing Steve Martin has ever done.
Iāve never watched Jonathan Creek as I donāt like the two leading actors.
OMITB Iāve watched the first two seasons and love the show. 3rd season is waiting on my to watch pile, along with the latest Slow Horses season.
I really enjoyed the first series, but it got boring after that.
Never watched anything with Alan Davies in, since he went on that rant about us respecting the Hillsborough anniversary. How, as he said
" it gets on my tits that shit, why canāt they play on that date, why.? "
As KNOBEADS go, this guy has to be one of the worstā¦!
Listen for yourselfā¦
I havenāt watched anything in ages
Presumed Innocent.
A series remake of the Harrison Ford film adaptation. The acting was largely fine but as far as a suspenseful drama (even if the crime itself wasnāt as harrowing/disturbing), preferred Defending Jacob.
Started watching Preacher on Netflix. Itās fun.
Read some mixed reports regarding - Outer Range
What caught my attention was the amount of songs listed on the soundtrackā¦
Might delve a little deeper and give it a trial run
Outer Range was wonderful for a season and then devolved into predictable disappointment once the writers were faced with a āfuck, this was succesful now we have to do a second season!ā situation.
Ruth Negga is a goddess
I couldnāt get enough after watching the first few episodes then struggled to watch the last few episodes.
Just a few days ago i was wondering if that was still on Netflix. It feels like it was one of the first big hits Netflix had.
Finished Shogun last night, watching the last 3 episodes. Really enjoyed the show, although the last episode or two caught me out a little.
Never read the books or watched the original mini series, so dont know how closely it followed those.
It isnāt a Netflix original. Itās from the same network that did Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and Walking Dead. Even through that success that they are second tier at best in terms of size and power outside of the US have to licence their stuff to other distributors, which is probably why you would have seen it on Netflix first time around. However, it has recently come back to Netflix because its primary network has essentially given up competing and ended up signing a big licencing deal with them for their content which means it is not on Netflix for the first time in the US and that probably extends to it coming back to Netflix in other territories as well.
I went up and down with it, but everything about Sawaiās role and performance in her final episode was absolutely stunning.
I started doing a rewatch of the Haunting of Hill House this week for Halloween. I dont do many rewatches, but remembered this one really fondly and didnt see to much other Halloween focused stuff available so gave it a go.
Im half way through and recall the impact of the episodes over the second half of season not being as big as the first 5 episodes so I am waiting to be disappointed all over again, but fuck me those first 5 episodes right up to the big midseason twist are sensational.
Thereās also Carla Gugino there.
She is beautiful, but unfortunately a terrible actor and the worst thing about the show by a long distance
[ducks]
