I take it back. Stranger Things 4 is awesome!!!
I will need some movie/series recommendations to keep me occupied till August.
Is there a particular genre? Iām currently watching Better Call Saul and I echo the sentiments from posts above, although I renounce @ZinedineBiscanās remark of the last season being āmeanderyā, even if itās a cool word!
Iām also intent of revisiting some shows that I loved, such as Homicide: Life on the Street, Legion, Dark, and the first and the third season of True Detective, although I will probably wait to finish Better Call Saul and the upcoming new seasons of The Boys and Westworld.
Anything except horror, action, and romance. Iām partial to mysteries, adventures, and fantasies. I liked Anne with an E.
I will start watching Better Call Saul after all the seasons are released. Itās difficult to keep track of things when thereās a gap between seasons. The same reason I donāt fancy Stranger Things anymore. On a different (but related) note, I liked Fargo and Mindhunters. But I stopped watching after a few episodes and now I canāt relate to the episodes and have to start watching from the beginning and thatās a bit tedious. I started Dark, but the to and fro along the timeline was too confusing and off-putting.
Also, I only have Netflix.
Meandery because so much of it has focused on screwing over Howard, which for the final season and careering towards the Saul we meet in BB, felt a bit too much like a side-quest. However, the pay-off when the two worlds collided was absolutely worth it, and one of the most shocking bits of TV Iāve seen for some time.
Now, far from being a side-quest, we can see its potential for being the catalyst for Slippinā Jimmyās final form.
Does no one watch TV on Sky anymore? Is it just all about Stranger Things and Ozark and and True whatever.
True Detective is on Skyā¦
I was so lost with better Caul Saul that I went back as far as the end of the third season to try to catch my brain up with that had happened. Iāve now got the whole of the last 2 seasons to get through before I even start the new ones. Fingers crossed it will take me long enough to get through them that part 2 of the final season will be out by then
Iām belatedly getting into Bosch on Amazon Prime.
Didnāt watch it when it first came out, as Titus Welliver has got a weird-shaped head and that put me off, but a colleague has been raving so much about how good it is that I decided to give it a go. I am pleased to report that I have overcome my bias and itās a cracking series.
Yeah Bosch is really good.
Does anyone watch The Rookie? Itās brilliant. Absurd, completely unrealistic, but very entertaining easy-watch tele.
If you have the NOW app you can watch it on there. Iāve just watched Series 1 (awesome) and have started series 2.
Watched the first episode because I like the lead, and one of the other characters from the show who also appeared in some sci-fi show. Been meaning to watch more episodes but havenāt got round to it yet. Will keep it in mind to give it another go at some point.
Thanks @Kopstar, I donāt think I do have the app but will check my TV tomorrow just in case it is on there as part of my package.
Speaking of Bosch , Lincoln Lawyer the series aināt bad either.
And Iāve seen the first two seasons of the Rookie. Liked some of it.
Obi Wan is a very problematic show. I wanted to like it so much. I think once this one is out the way Lucasfilm need to have a big think about what the future of Star Wars looks like because this is not good.
My concern is they seem to be choppinjg and changing what is canon as in Empire Strikes Back, Kenobi knew nothing of Lea.
Then in Revenge of Sith, he is present for the birth of Luke and Lea, and hears Bail offer to take Lea and adopt her. Now with what is happening in the tv show, it seems like the writers are simply trying to cram it full of any and every character they can. I wouldnāt be surprised to see JarJar fucking Binks turn up at some point
Canāt remember the scene, couldnt that just be Obi wan hiding that from Luke?
I would love to see JarJar have his own show
It was after Luke left Degobah, and his force ghost said to Yoda, that Luke was the last hope and Yoda said that there was one more, so he didnāt know about Lea, yet he was also present for her birth
It was after Luke left Degobah, and his force ghost said to Yoda, that Luke was the last hope and Yoda said that there was one more, so he didnāt know about Lea, yet he was also present for her birth
That can be interpreted as him just not picking up on the fact that she was capable of using the force, not that he didnt know she was a Skywalker. I know for many people the two are one and the same, and this is a misperception that the Star Wars universe itself fucked up, but the force is not supposed to be something that gets passed down in families like a desirable genetic trait. I mean, Jedis were celibate and didnt have kids The two ideas cannot exist in harmony, and I know that by focusing so much on the power of the Skywalker lineage it suggests something else, but the easiest and not unreasonable way to reconcile that conversation is just say Obi Wan knew she was a Skywalker but had no reason to suspect she was capable.
