Wait which korean series was she in?
Stranger
Several of recent K-Drama right from the top of my head that I really likedā¦in no particular order:
- Signal
- Mother (based on a J-Drama with the same name)
- My Mister (also called My Ahjussi)
- Stove League
- Romantic Doctor, Master Kim (or Doctor Romantic) Seasons 1 & 2
- Hospital Playlist Seasons 1 & 2
Edit: 2 more with actor Lee Sung Min.
7. Memory
8. Misaeng: Incomplete Life
The problem with K-drama āStrangerā is the reuse of eavesdropping by standing next to the opened windows or doors. It were reused so many times in this drama, I just facepalmed each time it did that.
That doesnāt mean that you have to follow the trend. Be strong and resist the temptation, no matter how strong it may be.
Just rewatched Reacher. Still as fun the second time round, although not a fan of the last episodeās match ups.
I canāt wait for the next series. Will be interesting to see how it fares with virtually a whole new cast.
Dont get your hopes up. Dont get your hopes up. Dont get your hopes up
Star Wars 10 title by any chance?
My first thought wasā¦but where are the Ewoks?..
Itāll be shite.
Never trust a gun you havenāt personally test fired.
Anyone watching Under the Banner of Heaven?
Any thoughts?
I think the performance by Andrew Garfield is exceptional
It think it was good, but quite hard work to get through.
I think it also suffered a bit from the overly credulous attitude mainstream America takes with Religion in general. I found the depiction of the internal battle the Garfield character was going through with his faith frustrating as it takes as a given that we take all the (nonsense) stories his life was based on seriously in the first place. Rather than empathize with him I found myself losing patience that he was trying so hard to hang on to such patent bullshit. Especially given that his character was invented as a narrative device I think they maybe could have made different story telling decisions to improve it. Yet I agree that his performance was still one of the best things about it.
I have developed a real interest in the genre of drama that flip the perspective to that of the native population and thought they maybe could have got more mileage out of exploring the perspective of the character Rainwater plays.
I have read the book āUnder the banner of heavenā by Jon Krakauer. Not aware that a TV series has been created based on the book.
Yeah, itās a fairly recent adaptation of that. In the US itās on Hulu, but not sure about Canada.
My friend told me that the show is on Apple TV.
Im sure it is, but most of the content technically available on Apple is simply a link to something in iTunes you can pay for. Apparently in Canada it runs through Disney+
I have a confession. I thought The Office (UK) was great but just wrote off the US version as being bound to be shit. Itās not. Itās fucking brilliant.
Only just found this out recently myself.
The first season is woeful, the rest (as much as Iāve watched) is absolutely superb.
