For someone who’s always bitching about moaning you don’t half fucking fancy one yourself whenever you can stick the boot in. Not only generally unwarranted but hypocritical as well. Give your head a wobble.
Quality over quantity moaning
No secret that I’ve always warned about signing him and he has the same decline as many others this season but others get benched.
Are you under the impression that Thiago has been a bad signing? Even in this poor form, he’s still the best and the most reliable out of all the midfielders.
Thiago not playing at his best lately has nothing to do with the drop of form Fabinho had and Hendo to a certain level also. In fact, he was often, even at 70-80%, one of our rare individuals who looked like he belongs to the top level out there. Speaks volumes that he needs to play so much lately, hopefully we don’t ruin him. Who at the moment in this team can play without any mistakes? It’s practically impossible. But we have levels and layers. I don’t know what some people (though a small minority) are seeing.
By far our best midfielder this season, not even up for debate, the only one that can give him a run for his money is young Stefan
This whole narrative that so and so’s “been our best defender, midfielder etc” talk doesn’t cut it for me however true it may be, its a very weak argument…how does he compare to other midfielders in the league?
He was bought as a luxury player at the back end of his career on a modest fee in the hope he was still able to produce and to his credit, injury aside has been brilliant. It has been a pleasure to watch him at times but he’s 32 now and needs replacing. Time for lessons to be learned.
Agree… but as a bonus of him being here, I’m sure Bajcetic is learning lots from those lessons…
He’s statistically one of the best defensively and offensively. Hahaha.

Do some research before spouting waffle.
How do we as a team compare to other teams in the league? I one aspect, I know. We’re bottom of the league when it comes to duels. That was a few weeks ago.
We won’t be able to buy 3 new shiny top midfielders. Some will have to be bought, some will have to be sold, some youngsters will happen like Bajcetic and some will rediscover their form.
Is Tielemans better than has been suggested in recent years? Admittedly ball progression and recoveries are just 2 metrics.
Yeah he surprised me, guess at other times he doesn’t do much.
Ramsay and Adams look like good options for our midfield.
Tielemans at 25 already has a hell of a lot of games in his legs, coming up on 500 appearances for club and country. If we want to go back to having three midfielders capable of relentlessly pressing for 90 minutes for 40 odd games a season I’m not sure he’d last very long here.
The amount of how many and how long other team’s fans want Tielemans vs how long it’s not happening yet is amazing.
I’m fine with the player, by the way, but not sure if he’s what we need.
Bottom by some distance I’d imagine and thats purely by watching the team play every week, slow weak and feeble midfield incapable of meeting the physical demands that is the Premier League and this is why the whole midfield gotta go.
How can you explain being comprehensively beaten by Brentford Wolves and Brighton? This goes far beyond tactics and set up. What we’re witnessing is a handicap version of the team from the last few years.
That’s not only down to the midfield.
For now we have to assume it is, this dysfunctional midfield is forcing players in other positions to do extra work they wouldn’t otherwise be doing, we have to start somewhere bit by bit…start by revamping the midfield and we’ll no doubt see clearer signs of our former self.
Dragging this further and further off-topic, but Jürgen’s interviews of late have been consistent about the problem starting from the front.
So perhaps it’s the dysfunctional strike force forcing players in other positions to do extra work they wouldn’t otherwise be doing?
Of course that an important part of it lies there.
That’s not to say that we have underperforming individuals both in midfield and defence.
There are plenty of players I feel are an issue, Thiago to me isn’t. Though he should no one be the one trying to set the attack off. He works far better in a 2 behind the 1.
100% add someone like Bellingham and a quality DM next to him Thiago will go back to god mode.
