I really hope Maguire wins back his place, the comedy potential between them is high…

More of this if he joins Man United, please!

The mental process of a UTD fan watching this video after seeing the De Gea news

De Gea isnt good enough with his feet for a modern keeper.

Oh. Ok, well, he sticks to line too much for English football so we need someone better dealing with cro…oh, he’s not good at that either?

Ok, well De Gea has become dodgy with basic shot stopping at least Onana will…huh? Fuck me, why are we buying this guy?

That one where he leaves it and the player knocks it in :joy:

It does seem to suggest that very little has actually changed behind the scenes in terms of the scouting and recruitment processes at the club which were supposed to have been done when Solskjaer left.

I think that was against LFC… ?

:+1: and the same player has just scored the winner (albeit very fortunately) in the under 21s Euros.

50 million Turkish lira maybe.

Then it would be overpriced.

That could be a done deal if they pay that 50M to the buying club for taking care of his salary…as a ball boy or tea boy.

Only Everton would be that dumb and they are skint.

Chipperfields circus maybe?

they always need clowns,

doubt they would pay £50M though

I can see Everton taking Maguire on loan for a season, now that Mina has left. They take a lot of Utd rejects.

Yeah that’s probably the likely outcome.

And honestly, he is not a bad defender. In Dyche’s Everton I’m sure he’d do well for them. The issue for him is he is limited and his game falls apart very quickly if asked to do more. The same was true of Terry as well, the main difference is Terry was comfortable not trying to be something he wasnt whereas Maguire buys the idea that he’s Beckenbauer. He wont be asked to be for Dyche though so his limitations will be largely protected.

Yeah this feels correct, but I guess the concern is that the game - particularly in the PL - demands that CBs be able to do a bit more. You’re right though that Dyche is probably best case scenario for Slabhead, as he won’t be asked to play a high line or progress the ball, just sit back, win areal duels, and hoof the ball up the pitch.

That player is not worth 200k per week though.
