UEFA Champions League 2020-21

Nah no need for that… the extra joy of seeing them flounder in the quarter final will compensate…!

Why? I’d rather United get through into the next round and the flounder away until getting eliminated and the watch them struggle to make top 4 than tank into the Europa League after this round and end up fluffing their way back into the Champions League by winning it against pretty useless teams like the last time.

I just expected Juventus (that too at home) and Leipzig to play better.

Since the summer of 2019, I’m wondering what are Juventus trying to do, based on a number of their decisions then and this last summer. I have no idea. Maybe when you’re dominant domestically for so long, you become bored and start making weird moves.

Me too, then I remembered our game at Villa…

The right amount of mediocrity to keep Ole at the job is always welcome.

CR7 became their main man and he’s past it at the very top echelon. He’ll score a lot of goals but to the detriment of their all round play. And he’s more of a flat track bully now. They thought at the time they were close to a champions league win and he would be the final piece of the jigsaw.

Pablo Dybala is the Argentine Taki Minamino, looks busy, does very little, flatters to deceive. Very overrated in my opinion.

So when they come against the best they get shown up.

They wanted something more attractive after Allegri. Sarri comes in and naturally, of course he can’t change everything in one season. Pirlo… a lot of question marks. It’s like they tried to find their own Zidane, copying Real. They could still remain a winning side domestically, although Inter got dangerously close last season. It’s more like Juve might lose the title rather than someone else win it, if that makes sense. I won’t write them off, Pirlo is trying to make them flexible defending in a tight 4-4-2 and attacking in a 3 at the back, but the first signs aren’t great…

Domestically they’ll stay strong. Maybe not as dominant as they have been, they’ll be like PSG. Strong in their own league, the odd deep run in the champions league.

Atalanta resting the likes of Zapata and Ilicic today. Zapata especially cound be a handful for our CB’s on Wednesday.

11 players/members of Ajax’s staff are positive.

Among them are Onana, Stekelenburg, Gravenberch, Klaassen, Tadic…

How the hell did that happen they must have had a party in a COVID-19 hospital

I would imagine the Covid-19 precautions will be very strict, but Bergamo was the worst affected area Italy and it’s spiked again I believe. The chances of someone in the Liverpool travelling party catching it, must be fairly high. Passing through the airport, the hotel and contact with the Atalanta players during the game, are just three areas where the virus could be passed on. We can only hope, I suppose.
