Shame most of the group CL games are generally predictable and a bit meh. But this part of the tournament is gold. Bye Bye Ron, bye bye Lionel…but I better not get to cocky just yet given our recent form.
Porto in the quarter finals? That’s the next opponent for Bayern confirmed.
I don’t really fancy it myself but if our players had the same gusto we would have probably forced the refs to look at the decisions we should have got and who knows, maybe got them.
Exactly. Look how the City and United players mob the referee whatever the situation. The referees feel no pressure from us and comfortable giving decisions against us.
Whereas what referees should be doing is booking players who surround them.
The decks are being cleared for Guardiola and City to win the Champions League. I expect a couple of other big name teams to be knocked out, to smooth their path to the final.
Doesn’t happen though, does it. Michael Oliver all but told us what to do to get decisions months ago and we’re still snowflakes on the field.
Being polite hasn’t worked out well.
I’m astonished that more wasn’t made of that interview; in essence, he was saying that officials favour bad sportsmanship and cheating.
Well, I would have been astonished if I didn’t know how the media operates in this country.
We have a team full of choirboys, we need two assholes.
I very much doubt that. There will still be the likes of PSG and Bayern who can’t be fucked with.
PSG Vrs Bayern in the next round it is then.!
While St Winifred’s Girls’ Choir mysteriously get drafted in to face Manchester City.
City vs Porto, obviously.
Well quite, Juventus were given every opportunity to win last night and they failed.
Now bring on Bayern.
Easy tiger
Wow, so much stupidity from Juve.
What the hell was that from Demiral? Challenge like that inside the box with his right foot, nearest to the opponent. Too wild.
What the hell was that 3-man wall? Especially the reactions from Ronaldo and Morata. Awful, they jumped and turned their backs before the ball even got halfway to them. Rabiot was the only one doing his job properly, sort of.
And Porto are stubborn, you have to admire that about them. It’s like they constantly reach these stages, get knocked out, but are secretly making little steps and gaining experience. So there was a win like this waiting around the corner.
Juve have totally lost me with some decisions in the last year or two. There’s now talk about them building a new team. Good luck with that.
Oh and what contrasting penalties last night.
Fantastic from Mbappe and a real poor one from Messi, just before HT to make it 1-2 and maybe, just maybe start a miracle. Disappointing for his standard.
Carragher: “I can just feel it… Liverpool will be the winners of the Champions League.”
Richards: “Feel what? What can you feel?”
Carragher: “It’s just something in your bones… You wouldn’t know, you’ve never won the Champions League.”
