UEFA Champions League (Part 1)

city will win this 2-1

Vini stop it.

Bernardo should be off.

the joy with which vinny plays the game reminds me a bit of ronaldinho

He’s a wizard that boy.

Yeah it’s so quite for a CL semifinal, Madrid fans are probably blasĆ© after winning so many CL.

There is a lot to not like about Walker as a person, but that was a real great boxing style puglists respecting the battle moment between him and Vini after the final whistle.

Thought Madrid played Vinny and Rodrigo more in the space between the defenders than out wide, with both players coming in centrally to run between the 3 center backs…

Tactically, I thought Madrid was the better team in this game, having found the right balance, whereas City were a bit uncertain without the ball…

A couple of key decisions to be made for the return game.

For Madrid, Militao or retain Rudiger

For City, several decisions: Ake, if available, Foden, etc…

A lot would depend on what kinda of game the Everton match is…

It’s all up for grabs. Here’s hoping Real Madrid finish the job in a packed out Etihad stadium, full of students enjoying their subsidized evening entertainment.

I was disappointed with Camavinga for the crappy diagonal pass, short, that was picked off and led to De Bruyne’s shot for the equalizer. Smashing player, but that was an example of a young player doing the wrong thing, with a short diagonal in his own third. He is very talented, but that sort of stuff gets punished at the highest level.

Looking at that picture, I think one of the managers is in his line of sight. I suspect that it is too far out for VAR to intervene.

No it’s not. The Lino’s view was obstructed. It then takes 3D to determine it is fractionally out? I cant blame the lino for that.

I guess they only use the chip for goal line so that’s no good.

VAR? I don’t think they can use in that moment? Maybe they should.

Of course Ancelotti says it is out and let me guess Pep ā€œdidn’t see itā€

Whilst I partly agree with Ancelotti, the phase of play changed several times between that incident and City’s goal, so Madrid had ample opportunity to deal with it, which they failed to do.
