I’ve little doubt that Bellingham (take all the numbers and business away whether we could pay it, would it make sense for us or if we could’ve beaten Real to his signature - probably no) would’ve been brilliant for us, just like it seems Szobo might be. With Szobo, there was maybe more of a question mark because, as Klopp said, we’re using him in a position where he never really played before - as a proper midfielder. At the end of the day, Real getting a Bellingham and Liverpool getting a Szoboszlai is simply how the football food chain works most of the time.
I personally thought both Lens goals and all 3 of Galatasarays goals were great, the best 5 of the night without shadow of a doubt.
United have this amazing capacity year after year to spend a fortune and still go into games being so short of usable players that they are forced to used misfring and misfitted ones.
It’s glorious
Looking at the fixtures today:
PSG vs Newcastle
RB vs City
The perfect encapsulation of the shit side of modern football
I am a romantic, so for me it is a dream tale if a smaller club, with time and effort, can gradually manage to become a big club and even a regular UFCL contender. But as you insinuate, there is nothing natural about the rise of Salzburg, City and Newcastle. It is only very sad.
Yeah it’s Championship football for me tonight.
Leicester City vs PNE looks an interesting game, 2nd vs 3rd, so lots to play for for both teams.
Interesting offside VAR call coming up…the intended pass to said player is offside, but the defender deliberately slides in to cut the ball out which goes to Morata who scores…goal given.
Stupid law isn’t it? If defender just leaves it, it’s offside (assuming said player would’ve gone for the ball which he does)
Am I the only one watching the Newcastle love in?
Would’ve been some goal from Dembele eh?
Come on PSG!!!
It’s amazing how fucking shit PSG are. Ugarte is outnumbered in there.
This might become unbearable now.
Anthony Taylor bringing PL stupidity to the CL
Lewa brutally kicked out of the game. No foul called…
2-0 Newcastle. Compare the time taken by VAR to look at that goal, to the incident at Spurs.
The time taken is justified if they have to look at 2-3 separate incidents in the build up.
Was there a foul on Marquinhos? He seems to think so. Does the ball drop down off Isak’s hand? Mmmmh dunno tough 1. Automated onside brilliant, goal line over the line…simple enough.
Psg must be on a bung. Theyve been embarrassingly shit. Will never win CL.
Goal was good, proper use of VAR
Luis Enrique tactically outclassed by…Eddie Howe.
Congrats to Newcastle for winning the CL.
There just shit, realised how bad they were when I watched them in the French league.
There a name only.
It’s literally just a brand who happens to put out a squad to play football, and has a half-arsed Mbappe playing for them.
Nothing more than a commercial enterprise, pretty much what the Glazers want united to be.
