I’ve little doubt that Bellingham (take all the numbers and business away whether we could pay it, would it make sense for us or if we could’ve beaten Real to his signature - probably no) would’ve been brilliant for us, just like it seems Szobo might be. With Szobo, there was maybe more of a question mark because, as Klopp said, we’re using him in a position where he never really played before - as a proper midfielder. At the end of the day, Real getting a Bellingham and Liverpool getting a Szoboszlai is simply how the football food chain works most of the time.

I am a romantic, so for me it is a dream tale if a smaller club, with time and effort, can gradually manage to become a big club and even a regular UFCL contender. But as you insinuate, there is nothing natural about the rise of Salzburg, City and Newcastle. It is only very sad.

Interesting offside VAR call coming up…the intended pass to said player is offside, but the defender deliberately slides in to cut the ball out which goes to Morata who scores…goal given.
Stupid law isn’t it? If defender just leaves it, it’s offside (assuming said player would’ve gone for the ball which he does)

The time taken is justified if they have to look at 2-3 separate incidents in the build up.
