UEFA classed it as assault…

Yeah, his suspension comes from UEFA not the FA so his suspension only applies to UEFA club comps. He’ll miss the next three UEFA club comp matches he’s available for; so if City are dropped out next round he’ll miss the first CL game next season.

If it is in a European game then yes.
Would be similar if someone got a red card in a league game, they would still be available for a European game.

Did Italy drop their need for this? Personally don’t see why a neutral venue should be sought after all its not like it’s not widely available.
