Yeah, APOEL was surely given financial ressources by rich people in Cyprus. And I checked, Nicosia has a population of more than 400k. If there is no sugar-daddy to finance Bodø, and no big industrial company, then the achievement is indeed amazing. Point taken.

It’s just such a rare of event in football. If is unheard of that you can go from nothing to journey first throught the conference league and do well, then through the Europa league the year after and then the champions league. They were after in the Norwegian second division in 2017, then 17th place and surviving in the top divison the year after, and then 2nd and then winning the league and the European adventure started.
It’s just so absurd that this is possible without money, when you have to sell all your best players every year (only now, Bodø keeps players like Høgh, as previous seasons all stars were sold for profit).
So yeah, the journey is insane and very much appeals to any sports romantic

We actually lost to Gala, not to mention our form in this has been a lot better against the better sides which again probably is more a concern than simply a shit half of football being played shit.
I don’t think we’ll go far (I just don’t trust our overall balance enough to go all the way, regardless of again a positive league phase of the thing), but of course I’m gonna hope and enjoy it step by step.
In 2005 it was surviving in Turin when I started believing we actually might do something. That night was a big moment. You could even see it with the celebrations among players and staff on the pitch.
And as Mourinho said, winning a QF and getting to SF is often the moment when things start getting seriously possible.

For me, favourites in the CL is so hard to predict and that’s exactly why I’m not giving it much importance. It can really depend who you ask, betting sites, media, fans, etc. Even planning to win the thing, what is there that you can realistically do to increase your chances? Not much. We’ve seen different clubs with their great plans to win it and it took them years and decades. Some still haven’t won it. I mean, we can all also see what type of clubs win it most years. It’s mostly some of the big boys. But actually picking one is so difficult. I rather just enjoy the journey.
