They did the same last year and had 9 days to prepare and us 3 days as the FA does not give a shit about the CL and won’t lift a finger to help English clubs even after they lost 4 of their clubs from the competition in two days mainly due to the infernal schedule in the PL. lens are right to protest as it would cost them winning the league as they are one point behind PSG.

Lens may well say that, but I’ve already read a statement from the French Football Federation saying that it’s not up to Lens and that they’re waiting to see if PSG will submit a request. You know how that’ll turn out.

That is not the point if they lose a few players to injury it might affect their chance to annihilate us 4 days later but with 10 days rest Dembele, Doué and Barcola will have time to recover from their current injuries.
If Liverpool gets 10 days to prepare then we have a decent chance to compete against them.

Another thing that will mainly disadvantage Arse is that UEFA have told their refs to punish English clubs if there is a lot of grappling and Blocking of the goalkeepers on set pieces.

I understand Lens frustration on this…they’re one point behind PSG in the league and are due to play them between our CL QF matches…its ideal for Lens.
If it is allowed to happen it will make an already difficult tie significantly harded for us and we all know fine well the PL won’t react because they don’t care.

The reasons the PL doesn’t care is because they are the richest league in the world but the champions league rewards the participants and qualifiers handsomely ie just Arse and Liverpool stand to earn over £100M even not counting the quarter finals revenue!
You go and check how much Shitty, chelski,Newcastle and tottingham stand to earn.

Thing is, putting PL money greed aside, other leagues will also do this (I’m sure Real Madrid and Barca over the years have benefitted) - it fucks about with sporting integrity, which pisses me off.
Ultimately, with this PSG situation, I’m sure the French football authorities palms will be sufficiently greased and they will have a lovely week to prepare for the Anfield tie.

I don’t think the PL should do it nethier should the respective Leagues.
Happy for them to move them to Friday but that’s about all should happen. UEFA probably need to step in.

All I see is that they understand that April 15th is not a suitable match day and they are trying to find a solution.
Maybe it’s somehow lost in translation, but from their perspective, that’s fine. There’s nothing malicious behind it, as it seems to be the usual practice there. The French federation takes French interests into account; I’m familiar with this kind of consideration in other leagues as well. Unfortunately, this isn’t common practice in England, but you can’t blame the French for that.
Their league match would have been postponed anyway, and that’s generally not a problem at all. They’re just trying to make everyone happy. You really shouldn’t read too much into it.

We are in QF1, which means that us or PSG would be at home for SF 1st leg.
So there you have it. Ligue 1 has bent to PSG demands.
The CL match dates are set by UEFA to accommodate TV schedules and sponsorship. Wed 1st leg / Tue 2nd leg, or Tues 1st leg / Wed 2nd leg. Ligue 1 just used an excuse of Hillsborough tragedy to give themselves an out to placate PSG demands.
