UEFA Champions League

What you go? Cheeky 10er

The Mancs get their usual favourable draw. Villarreal were in Pot 1, just because they won the Europa League! That’s just not right.

I dunno if it’s that favourable.

Ye I think Utd will faulter in that group

Apparently we’ve never played AC Milan in a competitive game at Anfield. Cool

Yeah; we’ve only ever played them in Champions League finals.

And, hopefully, it won’t be too competitive when they visit us this autumn. A nice one-sided romp will do.

Often underappreciated part of it as well is that Milan is the longest trip of the lot. Id often swap a slightly more difficult game (that Id still expect us to win) to keep all out away games in western europe.

Glad we didn’t get Shaktar, that would have been a pain. Otherwise, we get tough opponents, as always. Let’s see how it goes, we have our chances to get out of the group if taking each games seriously enough, and I completely trust our lads on that record.

It will be good to meet Milan after all that time. Memories… Porto must feel that they are cursed, and Atletico, as hard to beat as they are, might feel that they won’t get off as lightly as the last time…

Got properly fucked over here didn’t we? United get Preston North End’s B C and D teams and we get a world 33? We’ll still crush them like nuts in a vice but you can’t avoid the usual favouritism.

Just woke up to the draw outcome.

Sorry I cursed us this time yesterday but suggesting we would be in the group of death.

The Milan game in particular is exciting though given the history and will be the moment for me when they visit the packed Anfield.

But that’s a reflection on United, not the group, surely?

It’s probably the second easiest of all the groups.

Incredible we’ve only ever met them in finals when you consider we have 13 European Cups between us. The last of the true European giants to visit Anfield.

Without seeing any other groups yet, I looked at it and went “woof.” But then I reconsidered and remembered we flattened Porto a couple of years ago, Milan are resurgent but not what they were in the mid-late 2000s, and we are a better footballing side than Atletico with revenge on the mind. Bring it on.

Nah, Athletico will be tough, but Porto should be OK, and AC Milan are in Pot 4 for a reason. We should come through this.

AC Milan have Zlatan up front. That’s where they are.

Zlatan forged a good career after fighting in both world wars but he shouldn’t worry us

They did lose a major final to one of these teams recently though…

Ah I can’t wait for them to announce the fixtures.

Think if we start at home to atletico or away to Porto or Milan we will be onto a good thing

Just realised Grujic Will be playing against us.

He should be chomping at the bit

After all these short sighted idiotic transfers are done, I hope we win the CL back to back and all the hype about how the big moves all happened in this window become useless then. And would shatter the last attempt by the likes of Pep, Ronaldo, Messi for any glory. It’ll be poetic.

I am excited about our group, more so than I would be for some other groups, I think. Ought to be a few cracking games, with clubs that have actual history and fanbases. Would be more comfortable with our team travelling further if it wasn’t still pandemic season.

Would have loved to see Tiraspol, but given the stories about the lack of transport in, definitely not one we would want to do any time soon though…
