UEFA Champions League

So Putin hasn’t murdered thousands of Ukranians, including children? I don’t see how Godwin’s Law is relevant in this case.

You seems to be a bit obstinate lately illustrated by that Avatar you have chosen. Perhaps it is time for a vacation.

Have a nice day.

Don’t see how this adds to the discussion in any way?

I’m with @WooltonRed on this. Showing support for genocidal dictators is far beyond the line.

They happen on a nearly annual basis. The Galatasaray incidents have been unusual only because of the fact that they have involved foreign team supporters (Leeds and Chelsea, as I recall), but in the domestic league it is hardly confined to Galatasaray, and it is only a matter of time before there is an incident involving Fenerbahce fans.

I find this draw always the weirdest, because you get so many clubs you have heard of perhaps once before in the Champions side, whereas on the League path side you have a lot of sizeable clubs that perhaps had a less than stellar season last year.

This year I’m gonna support Union Saint-Gilloise, having lived in Brussels, 1 minute from their stadium.
I have a friend going often to see their games.

It is a local club which was successful before WW2, though I just read it was bought by Tony Bloom, Brighton chairman.

Crvena zvezda (SRB) vs Pyunik (ARM)

Tie of the round Ifti, don’t you think?
Shame about Diddeleng, but Pyunik are no pushovers.

I already dread the LFC vs USG final. ^^

It creates weird outcomes if we think of the competition of having the greatest concentration of quality, but I think it’s one of the few things UEFA has got right in recent years. By ensuring the lesser leagues have spots in the CL proper it results in more equitable distribution of TV revenue across the leagues, the lack of which previously has been one of the most unbalancing forces in football over the past 20 years. It’s too little too late but I think its right that there is some attempt to mitigate the damage it caused.

Rangers are already in trouble, I’m actually surprised that Belgium team has made the CL, I occasionally bet on it and they didn’t come across as decent and yet somehow they won it.

Pyunik sounds like a cross between puke and panic. We’ve all been there.

I think they were newly promoted team, and won the Pro League by a canter…truly phenomenal back to back seasons.

I’m in favor, anything to get biased match officials out of the way
