UEFA Champions League

City bought someone who fits their play. All his goals are tap ins. Nothing amazing (yet). That’s what they needed as they had Sterling , Jesus and Grealish who miss chance after chance. Now they have someone who don’t miss a lot.

We have bought someone who doesn’t really fit our play so he isn’t going to hit the ground running as his team mates need to understand what he wants and we don’t know yet, if he’s good enough.

Haaland score rate was great before he came to Prem and he’s played for teams that aren’t consistent but he has been.
He has 25 CL goals in 20 games and has scored on his CL debut for all 3 teams.

I hate to say it and it’s a scary thought but he’s taken a city to a level where (if he stays fit) they are (more than likely) unstoppable.

They get the CL money then don’t mind going out as they’ll win Europa most seasons.

Lovely to see Shaktar get a win, going be my second team in the CL.

They won’t get a lot of money from CL getting whopped like today.

I only see them beating Copenhagen at home.

All his goals are not tap ins though, but most for City has been so far. Most of them are because he usually lives in the box when his team has the ball. He has an incredible reportoare of ways to finish and is fantastic on counters or when the opposition team is unbalanced, 1 against 1, sometimes 1 versus 2 ,against defenders.

Haaland is fantastic finisher with monster physical attribute but I doubt he fit they way Mancity play. City basically build up with 10 players because Haaland do nothing except finish. Newcastle and Place found their weakness and successful then I see many team will able to do that.

Villa result was interesting to me. You can potentially shut down a threat that is one player. Of course we know that’s not all City but I do think we will see more results like that.

More teams have also hit back this season, we know the typical City game, early goal game gets wrapped up by half time.

Both Villa and Newcastle hit back even though Man City came back.

Maybe West Ham and Aston Villa last year started to awake some teams to the possibility

He locks away 1-2 defenders that needs to take care of him and him alone and gives his team a lot of space they wouldn’t have had without him and he moves constantly in his position. From what I have seen and my experience anyway. City, actually no team, needs 11 players in their build up as far as I understand football. Usually, most team have 2-4 such creative players, so I think 9 (without the keeper) is enough even for City.

No team is unstoppable. How much better are they than last year anyway? He makes them more cynical but less creative as he doesn’t contribute to the build-up or to their pressing. PL teams will also adjust at some point and they will defend him better. Although, they need to stop crapping their pants whenever they play them first.

And all the media make sure the people speak about a phenomenon. :sunglasses: There is nothing special about him, he is just an extreme ugly Ruud van Nistelrooy.

We were last years finalists. We have reached the final three times in recent years. Obviously we are going through a rough patch and settling in new players but 'm assuming that most punters will see us qualifying with the key games next year. Real Madrid, on the other hand, are serial winners and I would have thought are worth a punt regardless (not that I am a gambling man).

Large majority of his goals are tap ins. He is hugely dependent on the service he gets. Norway didn’t make it to the world cup because he doesn’t always get the service

Leipzig is utter crap. I meant the club not the city.

All the results last night were pretty much expected, so a rather boring night of European football. The way they were playing in the first-half, I expected PSG to demolish JJ.

Norway didn’t make it to the world cup because you need a team for that and not just 3 very good players.
Perhaps you should check out his actual goals and have a look at his repertoire and then get back to me with the only good with tap in’s thesis, which you would find to be absolute nonsense after having seen his goals.

To be blunt, he has scored an obsence number of goals at both Salzburg and Dortmund and I have followed his career since before he went to Salzburg. The idea that he only scores at City because of City creative players like KDB and etc. and that he would struggle in a club without such special players is just not true, when the obvious truth is that he suits in several different systems.

Rooney was a bad pro who didnt take care of himself. Hazard has been let down by a dodgy ankle that has kept him out for the best parts of the last 2 years. If he can get back to a point where his ankle allows him to run he will be valuable.

For city they have been. There was an absurd stat shared this weekend that he’s scored more goals from inside the 6 yard box already this season than any other player in the league has over the past 4 years (or something like that). Interestingly though, this is a bit of a reimagination of his game though to be scoring these goals, especially the headers.

Draw between Ajax an Rangers please.

VAR used in the Frankfurt Sporting game, Ref gave pen…went over to monitor…took 15 seconds and made the right call to overturn. Easy.

So why do we make it so hard?
