Money talks. Iām assuming that there is no comeback on a club telling FIFA that it causes too much fixture congestion so either stick it or send the kids? I remember that we essentially had to stick out an under-18s in the League Cup because of this and Manchester United even had to drop out of the FA Cup one season.
I think the club preferred to play in the FIFA club World Cup, they tried to re-arrange the league cup tie but the EFL werenāt having it.
Ironic considering what happened several months later and they didnāt finish the league cup til April due to Covid.
But now weāve won it I wouldnāt bother with the expanded version.
