Something about people mocking others for being upset about the color of their passport only to then get upset about the color of their passport when they have to renew and get a different one.
Nothing to do with the colour. Everything to do with the utility.
I liked my burgundy passport because it gave me the right to freely travel, work and study anywhere in the EU. These blue/black ones are a bit shit in comparison.

Given that the UK is by far the greatest place in Europe, the new passports do an excellent job of letting us do the best things in the best place 
But not such a great job at expeditiously getting through customs anywhere in Europe now. 
Only been to Italy and Spain since. Even given the COVID paperwork, was a breeze.
Iām coming into Manchester next week , and a bit worried about the (French) family getting stuck for hours in customs. Have you ever used the Passport Fast Track service ?
Had to go to Peteborough for my last passport. Amazing, done day before collected day after. Last time I used fasttrak, (10 years ago) I sent it I think on the Wednesday, passport was royal mailed first class on the Saturday. But if you need it, suck up the Ā£Ā£Ā£ and click and collect.

No , I mean to get through passport control at the airport faster. They canāt use the e-gate because my daughter is under 12 and obviously being āforeignersā have to present to a border control officer. Just a bit worried , due to strikes , that they could be waiting a long time , so Iām trying to bypass all that. For a fiver a piece apparently you can skip the queues.
Speaking of passports I had to wait 6 months for HM office to re-validate my old 1.
Mustāve called up the customer service reps 3-4 times during that period and was passed around more times than Kendra Lust at an orgy party having to repeat the same 49903 digit reference number.
Not a pleasant experience.
Maybe Iām getting him mixed up with one of the other 650 MPs embroiled with sexual harassment complaints, but didnt he get done last year for something similar?

Went to Italy last March. Utter chaos.
Bitterly painful check in thanks to post pandemic staff shortages I think and huge queues getting through Turinās passport control thanks to the B word and pandemic Iād say.
Whether thatās improved now I canāt say.
Iāve been to the UK twice since Brexit. Both times was by ferry with my car and customs was very quick. Iāve no idea with the airports but I suspect it is more down to the staffing levels. Amsterdam, for example, has always been a complete nightmare.
Thatās what Iām worried about. Iāve heard Border Patrol officers will be joining in the widespread industrial action across the UK.
