Wife’s sister, who literally has days left to live, couldn’t be admitted to the care hospice because the doctor required to sign her in was on fucking strike.
I’d be worried if Jnr hadn’t tried to blag the router password out of me Phone’s on a different wifi with a rather nice filter on it. Jnr never worked out how the batteries in the torch never went flat reading in bad at night.
We have to boundary it for them when younger, try our best to teach them to teach the right way as we see it, before hanging on for dear life as we give them freedom in adolescence, or they wrestle it away for themselves
Complete bullshit. I have three daughters and we have never smacked them. The eldest is 17 now and the youngest will be 9 soon. Not a single problem with discipline.
Sounds like a good balance Semmy. Our 8 year old is obsessed with Minecraft and his ‘reward’ for trying his best at Tennis, Chess and Scouts each week is 3 X 30 min sessions. Poor kid borrows books about Minecraft in between times.
Agree with this. My boys are only 8, 6 and 6 but I’m worried about them getting phones when they are in high school. We don’t watch TV as a family - odd movie or YouTube science videos excepted but I know this will get harder as they get bigger especially as they are not super sporty.
When our little ones were quite young, we set a task for each of them to learn how to play the piano… The reason being, we believed that playing the piano improves and primes the young brain in a positive way… They all have high flying jobs now, so maybe, there was some factual truth in this once old wives tale…
Regards the Minecraft video game, and whether this is the 21st century version of learning the piano, it might remain to be seen a few decades down the road, but from what snippets of research on this, the signs seem quite positive.
Better get yourselves ready for tiktok,it’s not been good for us despite doing all the right things such as restricting use,no tech or tv’s upstairs(radio/music allowed).
