The biggest problem is still fuckwits.
Yeah, so many people look across the pond and think, âyes, thatâs what we need hereâ.
Theyâre not directionless though, thatâs just part of the lazy narrative. They are proceeding with the very things they committed to in their manifesto, but these take time to deliver - and theyâve only been in power for 9 months.
They have also had a number of headwinds to counter so that whenever they have tried to do something to give themselves space to work in, they get pushed back to square one.
However, there is a good chance that some of that will unwind over the next 6-12 months and they can start to see some progress.
Or maybe they have stuffed it up already and the next 9-12 months will show how clueless they are?
Destroying any safeguards for the environment in the planning process?
Stuffed it up how?
They are trying to navigate the mess the last government left behind while simultaneously get to grips with the changing global situation following Trumpâs election.
They inherited a ÂŁ12bn+ hole, they then saw borrowing costs rise following Trumpâs election win, and then whipsaw further last month with his Tariff pronouncements.
Meanwhile both the Bank of England and OBR look like they may be underestimating economic growth and overestimating inflation - which again has an impact on the governmentâs ability to borrow and spend.
Meanwhile, they are progressing, albeit more slowly than many would like, on their manifesto commitments.
The legislation hasnât been passed yet, has it?
It shouldnât have been proposed in this form, should it?
I donât know. Iâm not familiar with the contents of the proposed legislation.
Nice to say someone telling the truth:
Starmer would do well to heed the advice. Doubt that he will, though, sadly.
@mods ban
Hang on. My eyes are burning after 3 hrs kitesurfing and you post that!
Yeah. Posting in the politics thread when weâre about to win the league ffs
Same as you then eh @Mascot :0)
FIX THE POST-MATCH THREAD TITLE.
THE PEOPLE DEMAND IT.
Yes itâs a damn complete sentence.
To be fair I was bouncing between the match thread and updating the post match, and Iâm like âWeâre going to win the league in three minutes - what the fuck is the politics thread doing at the top of the thread list?â
I donât understand why posting a picture of Keir Starmerâs head on a womanâs body was what you were here for at that particular time, but each to their ownđ¤Ł
With respects to Sean Lock, itâs a challenging wank.
Latest odds on next Thursdayâs Runcorn by election. A merseyside constituency would rather elect a former conservative councillor? Find that hard to believe
Donât worry, Iâm sure Starmer will tell us itâs because Labour isnât sufficiently right-wing.
I donât understand how so many purportedly intelligent people can look at the results of the previous elections, and think the answer is delivering more of what the previous government did.
Another one crawls out of the woodwork
