Will people like you ever concede there’s a genuine concern or will you just continue to peddle the usual slurs and ‘thick racist’ line?
I absolutely do concede there is a genuine concern but I definitely don’t think Brexit or Farage is the answer. It needs a Pan european solution. It is a problem that can’t be solved by Britain alone.
Some close relatives and friends voted Brexit purely on that one issue…to stop immigrants coming in. How did that work out?
I honestly don’t know anyone who voted Brexit solely because it would benefit our economy and we would all be better off…
Then why vote for a more extreme version of the same thing?
I think it is a problem that can be solved by Britain alone. Unless you’re referring to immigration into Europe as a whole?
Ok I would be genuinely interested to know how Britain can achieve that without European cooperation…
I’m not sure the Greens or Monster Raving Loony parties are viable options mate.
So are you saying we can never control our own borders?
It isnt a perception though. Immigration is deliberately unconstrained and the weaponised at the same time.
Realistically, probably not without any international cooperation, but, let’s say the UK shut its borders and stopped immigration. The economy would collapse.
So there has to be managed migration, which is exactly what all governments try to implement. It’s just not as simple as Faragists make it out to be.
They are offering a simple solution to a complex problem, while, at the same time spreading division and mistrust.
We are an island so of course we can stop people coming in illegally but it would need draconian laws and what do we then do with those that arrive at the border without European cooperation?
We could wall ourselves in mind you. Grim but worth a read..
Nobody is asking for immigration to completely stop.
Perhaps not, but I’m sure as hell Reform isn’t the answer.
So it comes back if people fully understand the issues why vote for Reform, who will basically rip up any last protections and benefits they have? And I’m willing to bet immigration will not change under them.
Why would laws need to be Draconian when, in your own words, it is illegal immigration?
How do you know someone has arrived illegally?
I was thinking in terms of what you then do with them. I presume you mean send them back? But where to and how without the cooperation of other countries.
BTW nice to have a civil conversation for once. Up the reds.
And this argument, right here, is what perpetuates the problem.
Ha ha was just thinking the same thing, like a breath of fresh air!
I agree. Not as simple as turning people around at the border and I presume he doesn’t mean that.
Not really working out too well though is it?
Unless of course there’s no intention to stop them.
Sure so what is the solution? I’ll ask again, why support a more extreme version of the same?
I just feel there’s an opportunity for someone but there doesnt appear to be anyone out there.
