The worst thing the world could have done is to allow the Pakistani establishment to get nukes.
I mean US , China and every other entity which involved the nuclear proliferator in the thief AQ khan to get nukes for his country and then to give a blind eye while he proliferated that technology to NK , Iran , Libya and attempted to do the same to Iraq.
With this I’m wondering what stock market activity occured prior to the ceasefire announcement?
My head is now heading towards this being a massive grift.
Pakistani establishment are the masters of grift.
I’m not that clued up on them, but it doesn’t surprise me that one or two would jump on the Trump gravy train.

Peace Negotiations breakdown
JD Vance … no deal…
US team heads home
========
US Navy sails at least 2 ships in and out of the Strait of Hormuz
Two US Navy Arleigh burke destroyers sailed into and then back out of the Persian gulf through the Strait of Hormuz. The destroyers don’t have native mine sweeping capabilities, so likely this is a test for bringing in the three high speed Littoral Combat ships carrying state of the art mine sweeping equipment. The destroyers likely will provide enhance air defence for the littoral combat ships while they are performing mine sweeping

New Trump Rants

Trump really needs to leave it alone a bit, though he is probably already cross eyed from over abuse.
I suspect Vance is quietly rather unhappy about being sent as the main face of the American negotiating position, because he was more or less set up to fail. Trump and by extension much of Maga were expecting to win at the negotiating table what they have been unable to secure by military action. Vance has had a better sense of the difficult strategic situation than most inside the Administration, and will have been well aware of the fact that America was pressing for these negotiations, not Iran. Despite Trump’s ‘no cards’ nonsense, Iran entered the discussions with a very firm set of demands that would need to be met in order to see them step away from the conflict. Many of those demands would be humiliating for the US at this stage, largely because of their own rhetoric.
Iran would have known that their demands especially with respect to uranium enrichment and passage through hormuz would not be entertained at all.
Both the sides wanted the ceasefire to buy time for themselves and restock.
Both of them approached the peace talks as just that. To buy time and equally importantly justify to their population and their allies that they tried to go for peace talks and those failed.
Pakistan sending 13000 troops and fighter planes to Saudi Arabia.
Amazing how 5bn in cash helps in reminding Pakistan that it has a defence treaty with Saudi Arabia. More so now that the talks have failed.
Got to wonder at the thinking in the US Command, those pesky Iranians don’t know where they laid mines?
Did they really expect them to tell them, certainly at this point?
