The single biggest obstacle to an agreement is that idiot providing a running narrative that bears no relation to the truth. If he could just stfu for a few days we might see a way out of this.

Aye, his own spin and narrative, going out declaring Regime Change and unconditional surrender, is his biggest enemies by far.
Because of course, when you have such War Goals, the “deal” he speaks of will be regarded as a defeat. And certainly if it is not better than JPOA!

It was a lazy comment related to the number of missiles launched at UAE. I nearly went down a Manchester City route but decided against it.
I had guessed there were certain targets or bases there that warranted the “attention”

I suspect you will be there for a while, since this ceasefire has no specified time limit and of course, for the US to threaten a restart of war, assets needs to be still deployed and cannot really be withdrawn.

The Hormuz Strait will remain closed, affected by both Iranian fire and US blockade.
You would be correct. I was meant to go home next week but I was told a few days ago that I’ve been extended 6 more months. Genuinely life altering for me and my family, not in a good way.
This isn’t my full time job.
Only positive is that its made my decision of reenlistment next year very easy. I’m out.

So we are facing the greatest global energy crisis in history and everything is about to get a lot worse before it gets better. Governments might fall, poor countries may have revolutions. Wars may starts as a side effect from this.
On a macro scale, it would be far better for everyone but the Islamic Republic and Russia, if US could some how “win” the war very fucking fast. But this is not the case and we are stuck, after the US admin decided to enact Plan 9 From Outer Space.
We are all at the mercy of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and the United States + Israel, and kind of forced through armbending (or breaking) to bet on one of those horses due to self-interest. That is not a good spot to be in.
