Yes. Cat 1 ended up with us because my wife’s colleague was moving to a new apartment and couldn’t take him. She said he was cute. In fairness he is, but he is also a dickhead.
Cat 2 came to us as a kitten last year. Officially my son’s cat. She is definitely cute and there is a great temptation to use her as a stress toy. She was also responsible for the “incident” at the vets that landed the vet and her assistant in A&E.
Cat 3 showed up a few weeks ago as a stray. We tried to trace his owners but to no avail and now we are stuck with him. He is very friendly, but suffers from chronic explosive diarrhea.
The dog should know his place but spends a great deal of time rolling around on the floor with cat 2. I think the vet should have a word with him.

I assumed car 2 and 3 were part of a litter from cat 1 and you kept 2, while giving away or killing the rest
I have an extreme fondness for cats. Love dogs too, I really do and would like another one in the future, depending on how my life is, but more work.
As long as you don’t live in the middle of a city or above in a block appartment, cats are easy to have (well, you can have in-door cats, but I don’t like that as a concept personally, and think cats should be free to go outside and be allowed to be cats and not just something humans use for comfort, but I don’t judge those who keep cats like that as it’s become common; just a very personal opinion and not something I would do ).
Sadly I don’t have my own cat right now due to living in a 2nd floor appartment and the contract stipulates no pets, but I partly visit my mother very often, just for the cat Shiva, whom I adore. My phone is full of pictures of her !!! 
But yeah, I need an animal friend again…
