🤨 Steve Nicol has slammed Jeremie Frimpong, insisting he is not good enough defensively to start for #LFC and could get in the way of Mohamed Salah.

He’s not even had a training session with the Reds yet… !|16x16

🗣️ “If Salah’s not fit then Frimpong starts where Salah plays. I’m interested to see what Arne Slot wants him to do. Because right now, in my head, I’m thinking ‘is he going to get in Salah’s way?’ That’s what I’m thinking. Defensively, it’s not good, just the same as Trent. He’s not that good a defender.

🗣️ “But going forward he’s got different attributes to what Trent had but again, I keep ending up at the same thing, is he going to get in Salah’s way? I think absolutely if everybody’s fit Bradley starts, I don’t think Frimpong starts. I don’t see where he fits in, I really don’t.”

I now understand the actual problem. (The quote from Nicol)

The thought process is an amazing one.

"He [Slot] has wowed the footballing world with his understanding of how the game works. Me, a moron, who has never thought for more than 20 seconds about anything, cannot seem to make sense of where one of our priority signings fits in.

It must be him that doesnt know what he’s doing."

Though one part I agree with is that Bradley should start the season as first choice. He’s earned that right

Nicol can be harsh with his choise of words sometimes, but I do understand where he comes from. I also have a few questions about this move.

I think a few of us do but we haven’t seen Arne’s masterplan yet
