What a Carrick On! It's the Manchester Untied thread

They can do no wrong in certain individuals eyes and it’s got increasingly tiresome over the last 2-3 years.

Especially as the only half decent they have made is sack Amorim and Ten Haag and they were both probably too late.

When you put it like that I almost feel sorry for the lad

Did he put that through AI?

No, but in the video this is how he looked after he said Maguire

I only realized this morning their move for Emerson broke down over a failed medical

And to be fair to them he may be 29 but he runs less than Messi so he’d got another 10 years in him yet.

To be fair to Goldbridge, he was against bringing in Carrick permanently ever since it arose as a possibility last season, pointing out that even though they were picking up points the performances were garbage.

So when they’re speedrunning Ole mkII this season, at least he can have the consolation of saying he was right.

Yeah, although there were some rumours floating around last week that they were going to go back in for him but with a lower offer.

Looks like we’re in for some awe inspiring pressers from the latest messiah if this is anything to go by ;

“Money’s money. I get that,” said the manager. “It’s still about football and that’s where the competition lies. What we feel naturally as a group is to try and win games. So there’s a lot that goes into that, but certainly the situation is what it is as well, whether that’s finances or whatever.”

So who is going to be the former player that comes in when the last interim manager that they foolishly decided to keep on gets sacked part way through the season?

I vote Rooney :joy:

Not really a ManU point anymore, but it is astonishing that 5 years on from costing ManU £73M, Jadon Sancho has been available on a free for over six weeks with no takers so far. Part of that is presumably his wage expectations, but it is still a real marker of what a disaster that transfer was for club and player.

He would likely be best served to go back to Dortmund to see if he can get back on track. At 26, he should still have some good years in him.

I think it is the Uber illustration of club and player both needing exactly the opposite of what the other were capable of offering

Sancho already had all the hallmarks of a young player going in the wrong direction with fame and ego and needed to go somewhere that was going to ground him and make him take his professional life seriously. That obviously wasn’t United, And that is precisely why they needed players at that time who were the exact opposite of sancho.

Sort of expected one of the Saudi clubs to move in for him. But it does look like his stock is so low at the moment that even the Saudi clubs aren’t coming in.

In a purely footballing sense, I actually find it a little sad.

You don’t accidentally reach that level, he clearly has talent, but as stated above, he needed the right environment to bring that to fruition.

Yanited at that point was literally the worst choice he could have made. There are a dozen other PL clubs that would have been a more prudent decision, but the twinkling lights of farts long since sniffed were a powerful lure.

Silly boy.
