Exactly lads. United represent an easy massive payday for aging players who just want to see out the rest of their career earning stupid money and don’t care about winning things. You still get the prestige of playing for a top European club, and you’ll still be remembered as an all-time great player. We saw it with Falcao, Ibra, Cavani, Varane, etc.
This signing probably improves their midfield, but the bar is extremely low. He does not fit Ten Hag’s system, and could very well struggle with the pace and physicality of the PL.
Nothing personal against Keita of course, but I agree with those who would sell him for a decent price. He is not good enough nor stable enough. He is really good, but only a very, very few games. Mostly he is not and I would by now categorice him as one of Klopp’s worse buys (far from worth his price tag imo).
I would certainly replace him with a more stable performer if such a player was available on the market. That’s just my opinion though. I really don’t think he is good enough for a title challenging team and if we could get someone else good in, then I would be very okay with him leaving sooner rather than later.
Agree Magnus. Naby and Ox haven’t been value for money - 85 odd million between them. Karius worst of all because of the CL final but those three stand clear of the rest
Ox was a player I really liked, before his injury fucked him though. But he was never able to get back to the level he was at, so sadly, time should be up for him as well. I really enjoyed him play before his injury though, so I have made many excuses for him in the past. But yeah I have probably lost hope for him now. So yes, if possible, he should probably be sold and replaced too (but Keita will command a better price).
I think you guys might be underestimating the impact Casemiro can bring to the Manures. He is a serial winner and although 30, still brings alot of pedigree to this manure team. If he joins I think he can immediately help the Manures avoid relegation.
Say what you want but I’m not looking forward to the prospect of facing that cunt at least twice a year. He may be 30, he may be coming over to primarily collect paychecks but he is also immensely better than the dross they have.
The Real Madrid coach has not tried to change Casemiro’s mind. "No, I just listened. There is no going back. He has helped us all these years and when everything is done, we will wish him the best.
Deadly, give us those €70m we have better, bye bye.
Casemeiro improves Man Utd, no doubt about it. By how much remains to be seen.
It needs a lot more than him, and at present, the model of signing aging stars for an end of career payday doesn’t seem right. They need young, hungry, a group, an identity, and a new team to emerge.
This will possibly just put another ego in the ranks to rankle the others. He has seen it all before, won it all before, and it remains to be seen how much he will care about elevating Man Utd or elevating his bank account.
An improvement to them, but probably only incremental, and at great expense, and who knows what it does to harmony?
