It’s been coming. We all wanted him to stay but he was just so bad that he couldn’t even give the most optimistic Mancs a faint whiff of hope.
What now? Well RVN takes the reins, and even if he doesn’t stay in the role furlong, he should be able to make up some ground while the going is good. Expectations are low, so even if he whips them into shape, nobody will demand he gets his nose in front. They will be happy if he looks at some of the big egos and puts his hoof down, telling them hay, stop whinnying all the time! Etc.

More will be written in time that may change the perception, but it appears he didnt have the strength of his convictions. He correctly identified that Ronaldo needed to go if he was going to be able to play the football he wanted, but after he won that battle he just stalled at that point and didnt go through the hard yards of changing the side to what he wanted. Too many people in his position are unwilling to take the short term pain of a team struggling to adapt, but if you take that medicine today in two years your team will still be one that isnt good enough and without any identity.
