I have much more faith in Spurs winning the europa league. Especially after the NikHammer has fallen on United.
Either way , this europa league format is a bang average bunch of teams. Winning this Doesnât nearly have the same prestige that winning the europa in the previous years let alone winning the predecessor.

08/09 a friend of mine was taking his new boat out, but wanted to get going earlier than I wanted to go because I had a feeling Spurs were going to get something from Utd and open the door for us. Modric scored their second to put them a deserved 2-0 so I told myself âfuck it. Utd are toast. Go and enjoy yourself.â So I got my stuff together, called a ride and went over there only to arrive at his place just in time to see Utd score their 5th.
That afternoon was possibly the drunkest I was at any time in that entire decade.

They were great during my school and universities days as well. I just donât expect some great renaissance every time they somehow win a game.
I vividly remember one mate, who I had frequent altercations with and who I wasnât on best terms with at the time, running into me during the half-time in the studentsâ dorm hallway where I was watching the game. He was something of a bad omen and he looked at the screen and shouted something like: âWhaaat?! Tottenham are winning, youâre gonna win the league now!â In the heat of the moment, I screamed into his face in front of all the people there to fuck off and that Man United were now going to beat them 5:2 because of him. I swear my mind randomly picked out the number 5. That said, even if they had lost, I doubt they would have dropped more points we needed to win the title.
Iâm doing a great bit of disservice to both Klopp and Slot because I specifically remember the failure of 2008/09 with more emotion and details than 2019/20 or this season. I think it can be explained, though, because I hated that fucking year and only the faint hope of Liverpool winning the title and the possibility of Type O Negative releasing a new album kept me going at the time.

Just a reminder that they are just above relegation spots, absolutely safe, below Everton, with nine home losses in the season and negative goal difference - and that they are about to undo all of that by winning Europa League. Devilâs club, they say.
When he came there was an outside chance for CL. Stop laughing! There was 2/3 of the season to play, and after thumping Everton 4-0 in his first game they moved up to ninth and were only two wins back from being in the CL spots.
They might not have said it at the time, but Man Utd fans probably thought they were dark horses for CL qualification.
Since then he has been utterly crap! No spark. No pattern of play. No rallying of the troops to run through a brick wall for you. Just a lot of whining and throwing everyone under the bus.
Because the CL is so bloated these days there is nothing much doing in the Europa League, so they have managed to blag their way to the final.
It would be a massive injustice if such a poor Man Utd team qualifies for the Champions League while being bumped up against the relegation spots in the Prem.
Spurs are no great shakes either, but I donât hate them! And besides, they have been decimated by injuries, and Postecoglu is a good red.
