It’s ok, just wait until it’s revealed that their new star striker coming in to lead them back to glory is Christopher Nkunku…

The bid is reported to have been over 60m. Mbuemo makes sense for them if you think about Jurgen’s train analogy. They have finally realized they need some no frills players who push the train to get it moving before turning their attention back to ā€œbetter playersā€ who can win them stuff but need the train already moving to thrive. But if they go back in for him with an improved bid he’s no longer really in that category. They are getting a train pusher at a premium price.

Maybe its still worth it for them because what matters is they get the train moving. But it’s starting to look an expensive deal for a skint club for a player of that caliber.

To be fair to them, this move does appear to be the right one. He’s proven over a few seasons that he can be a top-level player in the league, much in the same way Mane was doing at Sot’on before we got him.

The Cunha deal is much more of a risk, IMO. His temperament issues aside, I’m concerned that he was functioning well at a ā€œsmallerā€ club like wolves because he was essentially the main man in their attack, and I’m not sure that will translate to a system like Amorim’s with the shitty midfield they have over there. With is behavioral issues, I think that one has massive potential to blow up in their faces and they’ve spunked half their transfer budget on him.

It also remains to be seen if Cunha and Mbeumo can function together in those dual #10 roles, which also pushes Bruno back into CM where he’s somehow a worse player than before.

All this is to say that I like the Mbeumo get for them, but Cunha is a big risk.

Replace ā€˜concerned’ with ā€˜fucking glad’ or you are starting to sound like Muggsy gone native…

FACT OF THE DAY!!!

During the pre-match before we stuffed Yantied 7-0 at Anfield, Mark Goldbridge said, ā€˜I have so much confidence in our defence.’

Pushing a train at this stage is still ok, when they start ā€œpulling a trainā€, well its downhill from there.

Don’t blame mbuemo and Cunha for jumping to United.

But United will still be fucked.

Is this a new bid today, or the bid from yesterday?

If it is yesterday’s bid it is only Ā£55M with 7.5M in add ons based on winning the C/L, so basically a Ā£55M bid which Brentford rightly said Fuck Off. THey have said since day 1 that it will take Ā£60M or they will keep him

We have been in the position United are in now. There is a limited pool of genuinely good players who are willing to consider them. So those clubs know they can take them to the cleaners, and they will be desperate enough to pay whatever they are told to.

One thing I noted is Edwards shut down the whole process of advertising who we want. Man Utd seem to adverse to this idea.

Yes this stuff leaks but with all the players we signed under that period he seemed to have it under lock and key. We moved away from that a bit
