I do not remember New Balance and Nike have significant design differences between the “authenticate” kits vs “replicate” kits other than the materials and “hidden patterns”. However, Adidas seems to make an effort to distinguish them: Who is the big spender and who is the pleb!
Home long sleeves: There are about 2cm gaps between the end of the 3 stripes and the cuff for the authenticate kit, while the replicate goes all the way with no gap.
Home short / long sleeves: The back of the collar above the 97 Eternal Flames are also different. The authenticate kit is red…there is approx 5cm gap between the white collar, while the replicate goes all the way with no gap.
Away kit: Collars at the front are very different. The black and red strips comes further towards the front for the authenticate kit. Looks much classier in the authenticate one. Similarly, the back of the collars are similar to the home kit: Gap vs no gap above the Eternal Flame.
Any one else having issues with the quality of the new shirts?
£130 or so for my son full kit. These pics are after 1 day wearing it.
Full of large pulls in fabric. Almost holes already in some areas,
I know football kits are never the most durable but I’ve never known a kit to be falling apart after 1 day. My lad lives in full lfc kits and have never had a issue before
There is also a discussion thread in Reddit on the quality of the new Adidas kit. People managed to bring it back to the LFC store to replace their children’s kit with minor wear and tear after a week or so. Most were caused by velcro strap on the kids’ backpack, belt, etc.
Thing is you look at these and everything seems to be unique now they all seem to follow about 7-8 templates and yet they are charging more. I bet the shirt making hasn’t gone up massively.
