Who would you buy?

To me, the guy may have just gone stale at that defend defend defend club. New environment, new challenge, new lease of life - that is what we want to see from him… imagine being a defender having to face Diaz on the one wing, this guy on the other, and MO running down the centre - Happy days for LFC :0)

Wasn’t trying to debate your whole opinion of not wanting him here (you are justified to your opinion)… just that your suggestion of lost speed did not seem to coincide with facts.

But lost acceleration is close or similar enough to speed, so fair enough. I don’t know and it is rare to have statistics on acceleration so will have to trust you on this one.

Loïs Openda’s release clause at RB Leipzig won’t be available this summer; it will be worth €80m starting from summer 2025 . Openda has scored 28 goals in all competitions this season with RB Leipzig super happy with his performances.

One to looks forward to if Salah decides to go.

Someone please tell me Mamardashvili and Kvaratskhelia have the same agent.

I would if I could spell them.

I’ll be very surprised if we do decide to go for him.

More of an info than a wish (I do think he would’ve been very good for us)…

Dani Olmo’s agent said that he had negotiations with multiple other clubs before they all opted for Barca. He said that there were a few English clubs involved (all CL clubs) and admitted that one of them was Liverpool. Could see us that we perhaps tried with Olmo, then Gordon, then opted for Chiesa. All different players of course (especially Olmo from the likes of Gordon and Chiesa), but proved that they can play different attacking roles.

So much talk about 3 of our key players’ contracts running down and of course it’s not a nice situation, but wanted to have a look at other players who’s contracts are expiring in 2025. Some of them will sign new contracts, but just to give an idea of the market’s situation…

Leroy Sane
Jonathan David
Alphonso Davies
Joshua Kimmich
Heung-min Son
Kevin De Bruyne
Jonathan Tah
Neymar (option of a further year)
Frank Anguissa (option of two more years)
Tyrick Mitchell
Angel Gomes
Sean Longstaff
Lionel Messi
Denzel Dumfries
Amad Diallo (option of a further year)
Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Ferland Mendy
Kyle Walker-Peters
Paulo Dybala
Thomas Partey
Leif Davis
Davide Calabria
Mario Pasalic
Sergio Reguilon
Alex Meret
Ola Aina
Nelson Semedo
Eric Dier
Dani Carvajal
Jorginho (option of a further year)
Koke (option of a further year)
Ilkay Gundogan

Once we are a few months in 2025, I will post the ones with contracts ending in 2026 (even more interesting names of course).

If Perez wants to go Galacticos 2.0, maybe he will do Carvajal & Mendy out on a free, Trent & Davies in on a free.

:joy:

I think Davies has been heavily linked with Madrid so think it’s quite likely he will go there next summer. Madrid have learned how to use the free transfers system to their benefit by getting some of the best players without a fee going to rival clubs. And, some of these are relatively young stars not the older players clubs would often pick up

By saving money on transfer fees, they can afford to pay higher wages. They very cleverly manipulate the allure of being the biggest club in the world.

As I have mentioned before, the only club I would understand if a player chose ahead of us is them.

Did anyone watch more of Urbanski, Bologna’s young midfielder? I thought he had a good game, he seemed to have certain traits that would make him a good fit for this team (looked to have those turns and shimmies that press-resistant midfielders are known for).

Problem I have is you watch one match and you don’t get much of a view.

Strangely I thought Kepa was a really good goalie in Spain but well.

I do trust our guys not to buy a player who turns up against us and is bang average the rest of the season.

Gordon is a perfect example.

I like Zalewski.

Obviously he’s playing in a different system to us for both club and country, but one to keep an eye on how he progresses and his contract is also expiring in 2025. Juric is trying his best to persuade him to stay at Roma.

If I remember well, he got his first (proper) chance under Mourinho. Was more of a winger then and then he evolved into a wing back, who can play on both sides. Two-footed as well.

That’s why TAN has a ten-match minimum.
