Under no illusions now. If we don’t buy a centre back this window, it’s not because we think we can manage or we’re waiting for the summer to do the right deal.
The only rationale is that we’re skint and the owners aren’t willing to bend their approach to account for an unprecedented injury crisis.
Should have done something January 1st. Now we’re in an even worse position.

The powers above Jürgen are having a mare. With Fabinho and Phillips/ Hendo looking to be our centre halfs top 4 is a success. If we manage to miss that which less face it a possible how much millions is that gone. Surely more than a centre half would cost. FSG you have cash don’t lie to yourselves dip into the pockets and get us a centre half.
Centre half : 6 month loan (pace and can pass) (forget defending ability just have pace and ball playing 
). Should cost 50k a week wage maybe for a lad out of favour at most. That’s about 500k in wages until summer. Spend that FSG and you might get about 50m in champions league money.

I’m with @Kopstar. I think West Ham would be thrilled if we took Diop on loan. If we aren’t splashing the cash on a long term target, Diop would do a job for 6 months.
And some of the comments on Matip are, frankly, unfortunate. And by unfortunate I mean ridiculous. Yeah, totally his fault he got hurt today. His injury record aligns with some peoples fair weather supporting record.

Diop on loan now, obligation to buy in the summer.
Come the summer, move on Matip and bring in Konate/Botman.
Gini leaves but we don’t replace him this summer. With some actual centre backs we’ve plenty of cm options with Henderson and Fab back where they belong. If needs be hold onto Grugic.
Then it’s a case of what we get for some of the squad filler we want to move on from to see if we can do anything else. Unless of course we swap Mo for Mbappe…

It was only the summer before last Diop was being touted as a £50m target for United.
Not sure if that’s a good thing or not given their propensity for over paying for bang average defenders but clearly the lad had something.
Not really sure what’s happened to him this season as he was pretty much a mainstay for them the past two seasons. Not as if they’ve brought someone new in that’s pushed him out the side either.
If there is something to it, I’d guess it won’t happen until after the game tomorrow. Maybe we can take him back on our coach after the game to save forking out for a flight and then the blacked out people carrier.
Again. Please someone tell me Mustafi is injured and won’t pass a medical in the next few days. He was not in the squad today.

Seeing it on twitter. Wasnt in the squad today and the club doctor isn’t in our official list for our game against West Ham. That means a medical.
