Exactly how it hit me. Feeling for his near and dear.
I’m certain that the club will take care of his young family.
Apart from that, there is very little that any of us can do or say that will make it easier.
RIP Diogo and Andre.
Two months ago, he was celebrating the Premier League title with Liverpool. A month ago, he lifted the Nations League trophy with Portugal. Two weeks ago, it was his wedding.
And now he’s no more.
Diogo Jota (1996-2025).
I can’t even process this. I mean, WTAF!
So sorry for his family, his new bride and children. The world at his feet, and it’s just gone.
Feels so surreal.
I have only just now got this news. It’s absolutely tragic and my deepest sympathies go out to his loved ones.
Whatsapp was going crazy from a work colleague , thought id check the messages later , …then opened it and saw what he was saying thinking its some kind of windup .
Fucking crazy, really cant wrap my head around, god bless Diogo, and prayers and thoughts with your family.
As a fan , you will always be remembered, you were our best natural goal scorer in recent years, and the part you played will always be remembered with fondness.
Gutted beyond belief RIP.
Feels unreal. Can’t believe this, but on the other hand it’s a car accident. They happen too often.
Especially in these super cars.
I’m deeply saddened and shocked by the heartbreaking news.
What a tragedy, my heart go out to his family. RIP Diogo
I initially saw it posted by an Arsenal fan and thought it was some kind of poor taste joke. Then I realised that it was real and he was just as shocked as the rest of us.
It does seem to have affected football fans in general.
Not that it matters any more but…
The vehicle, a Lamborghini, reportedly suffered a tire blowout while overtaking, veered off the road, and caught fire, resulting in both occupants dying at the scene .
RIP Diogo. Heartbroken. Just got married too and has 3 young kids.
Very sad!
I cannot fathom it. May God give peace and comfort to his family.
Just come back home to hear the awful news I am devastated as is the Liverpool family I cannot stop crying as if I had lost my own brother (I lost my older brother to a car accident he was only 32 and left a wife and kid).
My heartfelt sympathy goes to his wife and children and condoléances to his family. YNWA.
So sad to hear the news. Won the league then the nations with Portugal, then got married. Everything was going so well and then this devastating news, which reminds us all how fragile and precious life is. RIP.
Remember him this way…
