TexasRed
I made the decision to support Liverpool in 2007, deep in the heart of central Texas, while at University. A friend of mine knew of my interest in football (soccer, here in the states), and he introduced me to the Premier League, then, dubbed the Barclay’s Premier League. We watched games early in the morning, huddled in front of his laptop. He was an avid manure supporter, sadly, and he had a couple ugly kits himself. He told me about his club and the reasons why (in his mind) they were worthy of everyone’s support. But the caveat was that I had to choose for myself which club to call my own. I found that challenge intriguing, so I began watching games, any way I could find them. Usually on replay through foxsport at the time. Or through various online links. It was a tough time for any American to get into football. Thank the soccer gods for NBC and their partnership with the league!
I’m thankful to be a Red. I’m proud to support this massive, massive club. To each one of you, wherever you are on this planet, You’ll Never Walk Alone. And I hope you’ll never feel lonely. Despite any hardship and difficult circumstance, remember that there is a throng of supporters, who believe the same thing about you, that You’ll Never Walk Alone. Thank you for this post, and for allowing me to share my own journey. YNWA
