Thrown in the deep end with Alisson’s injury less than 2 weeks after signing. Contributed to Liverpool history with a man of the match performance in the Super Cup, first of our three keepers to beat Chelski in a shootout.
No player is perfect all the time, and when you sign a 3rd choice keeper, firstly you hope they never play, secondly they’re never going to be as good as the highest level players.
When they leave having directly contributed to silverware success, I see nothing else to do than thank them and wish them all the best. He was clearly a popular member of the squad. Why anybody would want to stick a final boot in on his way out, I’ll never understand.

He seems to have been a very positive influence in the dressing room and really enjoyed his time with us.
There are plenty of players who have offered less.
Wish him all the best, wherever he ends up.
