He’s staying there because even third can get through however once you get to the knockouts anything can happen and if they fail to win the group it could be an issue.
Well it was always unlikely Egypt are knocked out in the group stage already (as they are among the favourites and the majority of third-place teams proceed to the knockouts as well). Possibly the best scenario beforehand were two sound wins in the first two matches (so Mo could be rested in the third). That did not happen anyway.
If they make it past the round of 16, Arsenal match is already off for Mo. So if they make it to the quarter-finals, I will in fact root for Egypt. I just hope this time Egypt will NOT play extra-time in EVERY FUCKING KNOCKOUT ROUND POSSIBLE as was the case two years ago.

Cape Verde 1 up, even though it was a tap in rebound goal the move to start it off was very good.
