AFCON and Football in Africa

I’ve got it in the background, it’s a fast moving game.

Who the hell is the co-commentator he is worse than some of ours.

Morroco miss a penalty, this has been the most entertaining only being spoilt by the co-commentator

This competition is bloody awful, I don’t know why I watch it.

I’ve enjoyed this game

Just watched the highlights of Malawi vs Zimbabwe (2-1), the 2 goals in the first half were absolute beauties: Wonderful crosses and superb finishes. The winning goal was sheer effort (with Zimbabwe’s CB not using his grey matter at the crucial moment).

Traditionally one of my favorite competitions but the matches to this point have not been great.

There is such unbelievably deep talent in this generation of African players, I was expecting a bit higher tempo and more competitive spirit.

That said, I do believe the knockouts will be more entertaining.

Egypte plays tonight, hope they loose again :innocent:

Salah playing on the left side?

Just realized that South Africa are not in the tournament. How is that possible? Aren’t they traditionally not better than many of those 24?

Algeria (one of the biggest favorites to win the tournament) just lost against Equatorial Guinea.

Think they will be out if they don’t beat Ivory Coast.

They lost their last group game. They went from top of their group going into the match to being eliminated with the loss.

Also no World Cup for South Africa.

Isn’t Rugby the national sport in SA?
