I don’t mind it being decided on a wonderful strike, as it currently stands.
No matter which way this ends, its making headlines for the wrong reasons.

Nobody can convince me AFCON isn’t the best tournament in football, pure entertainment.
How is that footage of the Moroccan fan-site…someone set off the streamers and confetti after the saved penalty…
HAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAAAAA
Wow, just look at that miss. Only in Afcon. See, pure entertainment.
That looked a sitter but was a brilliant save
The Copa America can be as much fun. Blood and thunder galore.
Problem is we may see that happen again.
And it’s not the worst decision to be honest. It’s a foul and a penalty.
How long would it have had to be before the match was called off? And were any players given cards?
Sadio Mane is a legend. A leader and a statesman and someone who I was proud to have associated with my favorite club. What a player.
I think the Morocco pen was soft, but I can see it getting called. The Senegal goal that was overturned because of the foul on Hakimi was a robbery. That was not a foul on Hakimi and that should have stood. And that is probably what set off the Senegalese more than the penalty call.
I don’t think Diaz intentionally missed - he was fouled and kept claiming it was a penalty. I think he was trying to pull a Hakimi and it backfired.
As has been said - ball don’t lie.
What a hero our Sadio Mane is?
He will always by ‘our Sadio’.
He saved AFCON tournament from embarrassment.
You can’t just walk off the pitch because a decision didn’t go your way, even it was a bad decision by the referee. If the circumstances are the players are being abused, there is a clear and present danger to the players or a pitch invasion by the crowds, then walk off the pitch.
Congratulations Senegal.
Comisserations Morocco.
That is comfortably one of the worst penalties I’ve ever seen.
Not even going to call it Panenka, that’s how bad it was, that is not a Panenka. In the last 20 years I’ve seen multiple attempts of one who have been poor, regardless if it went in or not.
And well done Sadio for keeping a cool head and class, proud of him. Perhaps shouldn’t have let the team leave the pitch in the first place, but maybe he was also confused.
At one point seeing almost all of the Senegal team retired to the dressing room and watching the ref totally confused what to do, at one point I thought they would say 3-0 to Morocco if the other team basically gives up and goodbye. It would be a crap way to decide a final, but that delay could’ve gone on forever, so what’s the limit then, what does the rules say? Maybe there isn’t one.

Honestly that decision to even take the penalty in that way. The goalkeeper probably cooled off from that long pause and he’s a tall lump. Hit a normal incisive penalty in whichever side and go home with the trophy.
Now he’s gonna live with it for the rest of his life, regardless what happens next in his career.
