Al-Sandcastle - the sportswashing barcodes

Have you seen the Telegraph recently their news coverage is as unhinged as this. Their editor weekly opines how the end is near for Britain. The Same editor who thought Liz Truss was amazing

Wasn’t aware he played for Portsmouth.

Nearly a full year after Eales announced his exit, Newcastle finally hire a replacement

So joining them is now so unpalatable for players that they’ve had to sign the former chief of MSG? Well I suppose it works for Chinese takeaways

While the Newcastle fans were shouting for war, the players met (apparently while drug testing) to swap shirts and take a selfie. Well done boys !

Gordon got the Virgil kit after his red card btw

Yes, interesting to see the players behaviour both on this and Isak’s move.

I know Gordon isnt very popular here but he seems to be an instigator of this.

Well that tackle was absolutely dreadful so can you really blame us for not liking him.

Does give VVD credit that he’s willing to give him the time of day.

I’m not blaming anyone, and his popularity stems from well before that ‘tackle’.

I just think it fascinating that he is so openly pro Liverpool particularly when his club has been whipping up the opposite feeling amongst their fanbase recently.

I don’t mind Gordon, he almost ended up being a Liverpool player last year and I think our fans would’ve generally liked him if he did. We had players who dived and made bad tackles, as we will do in the future. It’s impossible to prevent having that at any club.

I think he is generally a really crap player, I don’t rate him and his diving is a joke that would offer nothing here.

There you go overrated cheating fuck.

And some rumours = Almost

I’ll probably end up like Dutch and Grav, Gakpo or any other Dutch player we signed if he ever joins.

I would hope we never deal with Newcastle again mind, Botman would probably be the only one currently I wouldn’t mind signing but there are similarly talented CBs elsewhere plus they are owned by scumbags.

We’ve put them in their place. We’ve actually humbled them throughout the summer. Played them like a muppet with Ekitike and Isak. And on the pitch we’ve showed them that they’re not on our level.
Think they will struggle to finish Top7 and expect both Woltemade and Wissa to flop.

Re: Gordon
Its the hope that’s going to kill him. The hope that he’ll get his dream move to Liverpool one day. Couldn’t care less how he acts now. He acted like any other blueshite cunt when he played for Everton. No excuse.

Wouldn’t mind livramento.

Someone who can play both LB and RB at a pretty high level.

Nice takedown of Newcastle’s recruitment of Woltemade by Lahm:

"Nick Woltemade is different. He is 23, a good year older than Wirtz, but became a regular player in a first division team only after scoring two goals against Heidenheim nine months ago. At the age when Wirtz won the double with Leverkusen, Woltemade was playing on loan in the German third tier for a season.

It is unclear how well he will perform in the Champions League. He has not played in the competition because Stuttgart did not include him in their squad for it last season…He is a player with virtually no track record."

“he has not yet developed any consistency or patterns – not in his first touch, not in his combination play, not in his timing on headers, not in his shooting. His goals are not the logical consequence of excellent actions and skills. His excellence is not repeatable. And he still has to prove that he can last 50 games in a season, because he is tall but not robust.”

In contrast Lahm sees:

"Under the caring guidance of Arne Slot, something interesting seems to be emerging in Liverpool. Something you want to be a part of. I can well understand why Wirtz was convinced. I experienced it myself at Bayern from 2010 to 2017 and with Germany from 2004 to 2014. Both teams went through a long process, becoming stronger through transfers or new players coming through. In the end, the sum was greater than the individual parts.

I will draw on this community for the rest of my life. Wirtz can now experience something similar, at least at club level. It will be exciting to see whether Liverpool will be a really great team and whether he will be the final piece of the puzzle. As a fan, I hope so"

They’d probably have been better off sticking with Chris Wood tbh.

After the Newcastle fans wishing ill on Isak it appears Wissa is out for an undetermined time. I’m wondering how Shearer will try pin that on us.

Apparently, Wissa and Jacob Ramsey are injured.
