Trust me, it’s very hard to be told that Birmingham and London are better than Newcastle!

The others I can take arguments for - but not those to.

No offence taken. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Now if we’re talking weather alone, then yes the North East is pretty much as grim as it gets!

All a load of bollox
These new AED’s save the patient, do compressions, put him in the recovery position and counsell the responders. Then they make a cup of tea for everyone there.

Thing about the January transfer window is they will be forced til the last minute also so they might not even start to gel by late Feb.

The best thing they can really do is consider Bruce at least with a manager in place they may improve.

Murphy advising Gerrard not to take the job if offered.

you’re saying that, like the FA wants anything to do with the FFP drawbridge.

We’ve seen via the Man City fiasco last year, the governing bodies are not able to enforce FFP. totally fucked it. And now with Covid making a mess of EVERYONE’s books, it’s even more futile.

Only City voted against. Can’t think why.

Any chance at all that this won’t be overturned somehow?

It’s bound to be overturned. Brown envelopes and all that.

Saudi Arabia sponsors City, UAE sponsors Newcastle, owners swap cash, done deal, inflated sponsorships.

The ban on related-party sponsorships is only for one month while a “working party is to be set up – comprising a cross-section of clubs – to investigate what, if any, changes should be made [permanently]”.

Presumably Newcastle would challenge any permanent measure in court, but then we’re getting into @Kopstar territory.

City abstained, the vote was 18-1.

Aramco sponsorship incoming!

That was not very united Arab of them.

Thing is the argument can be made is why would you want sponsorship deals that are basically fake anyhow.

I don’t think they are going get it as easy as City did on this. No doubt the five of the ESL have been quite forceful on this probably throwing back some of the “earn it” rubbish thrown at them.

The fact is without creative sponsorship this could take years for Newcastle to get to the pinnacle, it’s a churn of at least three teams.

Doable within 5 years if money is no limit but not if it is restricted in anyway.

Just throwing this out there

How would we feel if Stevie went there

I’d rather he proved himself at a normal PL club like Villa or West Ham. NUFC will be a circus for the foreseeable future and success or failure there will not necessarily reflect the capabilities of the trainer.

It’s already starting to get a bit whiffy

It might ruin his chances of ever managing Liverpool.
