It wont happen but wouldnāt it be fantastic if all managers suddenly grew a conscious and ignored offers from Newcastle.
The irony of sacking the one person who was probably the best person to keep them in the PL.

It is particularly odd, because they made it absolutely clear he was a dead man walking before the deal was even approved. Having done that, there was no particular reason why they couldnāt be approaching candidates discreetly while he was still in place.

To appease the fans I suspect. They know that taking Bruce out and having a caretaker wonāt change much, but keeping him in would have just frustrated the fans more. This way the fans know someone new is due in and keeps the fans somewhat buoyant.

Howe would be an interesting choice, but I really canāt see him being the guy to dig them out of their current hole. I think it would be a serious career mistake for Howe. He is at the stage where his next move is critical. If he gets it wrong, he joins the likes of Alex Neil and Owen Coyle on the list of once-promising managers.
