Al-Sandcastle - the sportswashing barcodes

The thing with these thin boots as far as I know…
Ya can’t ‘toey’ the ball like ya could do at one time…
A case of if ya see the goal in your sights… ‘toey’ it if ya didn’t want the goalie to save it :0)

Where was Dan Ashworth before this?

He was at Brighton under Chris Houghton, but can’t remember if Potter kept him or not.

If I remember correctly, he was also quiet involved with the England youth set up before Southgate took the Senior job, so seems to be someone with some history and experience of working with younger players doing the developement side.

So looks good for those wanting Newcastle to do well and not for the rest of us

the whole US/UK establishment has enabled the likes of Mohd Bin Salman and his predecessors…

Regardless of whether it’s Trump or Obama/Biden…

I have a genuine question,

Would the technical director oversee the manager or is that something in the football structure that is directly below the manager’s purview?

Genuinely curious sport structures vary, and as I am very familiar with baseball not as familiar with footy.

Thanks!

It is not really a common role in UK, more common in Europe, but they tend to be more parallel to the manager and are involved in the backroom structure, so more to do with building and managing coaching/scouting/medical structure but often more outside of the first team.

Logic move, they need a football structure, you can’t possibly build something long term by just having Eddie Howe (or another first team coach) on the phone with the owners over almost all football matters. How well though? How fast certain things happen? All that remains to be seen.

No matter how bad a coach you presently have, no matter how weak your squad presently is, if you throw enough money at those problems, things will improve. Drastically so, if oil money and financial cheating are involved.

Not always.

Look at how much money Moshiri has thrown at Everton, and if anything, they’ve gotten worse. Look at how much money has been thrown at Utd’s squad, and they currently have Slabhead captaining the team  Money its is no guarantee for success, although it does help a hell of a lot but you need smart people making smart decisions to make that money work effectively

Yep, but money also helps you buy those smart people… Unless you’re Everton.

Then it helps you buy the funniest people.

Jose Mourinho allegedly accused referee Luca Pairetto of ‘being sent by Juventus’ | Daily Mail Online

Maybe someone else has their eye on going to Newsandcastle…!

There is no universal answer as there is a variety of related terms used to describe these positions and no uniform job description for any of them. for instance, Darren Fletcher is Ut’d Technical director, which they have described as having a brief for installing “the Utd way” in the youth teams and managing the pipeline from those teams to the first team. yet since he’s been appointed he seems to be more a first team coach.

Well that would ruin them for a few seasons

Now that they are pretty much safe let’s see how they will push out many of their current players and go crazy on the transfer market this summer.

Teams like Arsenal and Spurs will suffer first because they can not compete with their spending power.

Top half of the table will be one of the objectives next season. If it doesn’t look like that Howe will be gone maybe even before the World Cup starts.

One of their next two permanent managers will be Mourinho. Who’s betting against me?

I do think Howe will be given a year before he goes out.
