Man City fans disguised as Newcastle Fans?

This was seen yesterday. At least some of the supporters are aware and not afraid to speak their mind about the owners.

Frankly, I’m now worried about the wellbeing of the participants. This is possibly the most vicious regime in the world.

It’s a pretty stunning coup for them isn’t it.

Like I can’t make a single connection between the two before that.

Wonder when they’ll partner up with a Saudi betting company that doesnt exist but can suddenly give them $100m a year.

Crazy that Man City and Newcastle are able to get these record breaking deals all the time. Guess they’re just really great at marketing.

On course for Champions League qualification. Facing Leicester in the Kangaroo Cup QF, so will most probably qualify for the SF. Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup.

Hate to say this, but Howe has done well.

Fat Eddie plays catenaccio and tries to hit the opponent on the break, what a novelty, it’s only around the late sixties …

Wait until the Sheik forces him to work with Cristiano.

Newcastle and Eddie Howe have exceeded my expectations at this stage. I expected them to improve and maybe get to the Europa spots, and then sort of take it from there. With all the investment it would be all but impossible to not climb up the table.

And that’s the crucial point. All that investment is paying off, quickly, for them. They have recruited sensibly, for the most part, and are enjoying tackling the Premier League with their new found riches and a current lack of distraction from European football.

They are a very real threat for top four, and if and when they achieve that, I would expect the recruitment to kick up a notch again.

If they force the likes of Ronaldo into the club, it will hurt them. Unfortunately they look to be exploiting their economic advantage quite sensibly.

It’s a shame, because I had a soft spot for Newcastle. I remember the Keegan team very well, and they have club legends of years ago. That club has now gone, and instead we have an imposter, trading on the name. As such, I can’t stand them.

“The sight of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta being reduced to a frantic rage was all the confirmation Newcastle United will need that they are now a Premier League force to be taken very seriously.”

Who knew that being bought out by a super rich oil state would improve a football club?

Newcastle looked marginally improved over the version that was so antagonistic against us in the bad tempered match earlier in the season, but it was still a performance filled with the same negative shithousery, which is what gave Arteta so much frustration. They are still playing a side content to Atletico their way through the last 20 minutes of a game to win a difficult point away from home. We need to keep that in context when they’ve got such exciting dynamic players like Almiron, ASM, Joelinton and Willock who give you a platform to play a more friendly brand of football

Seriously consider them as a top 4 contender? Yeah, results command it.

Force? Let’s not exaggerate.

The day these win the league and City win the CL is the day I dig my own grave and bury myself alive.

If I get to see Everton relegated before that time, I might leave the digging my own grave bit out.

I thought you have been digging your own grave a few times on here T-AMR

The current squad they have are over performing at quite a margin. Just half way through the season, I only give them about a 30% chance of making top 4. I give us a 20% chance.

They are shithousing when it comes to their play - and if they get Top 4, it will be due to getting the results they worked for - but it won’t be smooth from them - they will recruit big in summer - and that will be the most telling moment - because then Howe will have egos and different pressure to deal with, especially with the addition of fixtures mid-week on a regular basis.

They will eventually make it to the top, challenging for the PL, but it won’t be next season, or the season after.
