I would imagine that it would be a long legal process which NUFC would circumvent anyway by replacing the chairman with someone who definitely not be a member of the government or the royal family and who in no way would be a puppet of said government or family.
Presumably, all they could do is stop Newcastle from being in the Premier League?
The Newcastle sale isdone and dusted, and the courts will protect the sale because of incorrect vetting processes by PL. Its their fault that Newcastle have these owners.
The only good thing is that a line is being drawn in the sand (forgive the analogy) and future purchases will require more transparency.
Chucking any PL club out of the league, or trying to, will only ramp up the super league stuff.
Points sanction please
Nothing will happen to Newcastle over this. The PL already did a weak ownership test, with government intervention leaning in to make sure it went through. Money trumps morals. That’s the government policy. You won’t find the phrase on the lips of many of them, but if you look at what people do, and not what they say, then the policy is clear.
It is possible that the Prem will grow a spine after the fact, now that multiple unscrupulous owners have been allowed in, and make it harder for others in future.
The lack of ability of the custodians of the game to manage things fairly will only speed the advent of the ESL, or similar, as clubs will want to run the show - for more and better control, as well as of course, more profit.
My take is this here.
A subtle, but crucial difference.
I agree with the correction! They have the power and ability, but have not shown the willing.
Quietly, they had a lackluster February. Draws against WHU and Bournemouth. A loss to Liverpool. A feeble cup final. Suddenly, an eighth place finish could be in the cards.
Howe did have these spells with Bournemouth probably something to do with training and so on, also the injuries may point to that as well.
They were only ever that level they have been fortunate Chelsea and ourselves have been underperforming this season do far.
Not so sure on that, it’s impressive for a team to be unbeaten bar by us into March regardless.
Howe to be sacked next season
If this result holds, that’s just 9 goals in 12 matches in 2023. Three of those were in their two League Cup legs with Soton. This match offered some excellent examples of those scoring woes. #InFreeFall.
Dont deliver CL for petrochemical state?
Not after this season.
During next.
Howe will be exposed as a shitty manager after making loads of new signings.
Then the owners will go for someone for international experience.
How to waste three years as Football club.
